Inuru uses printed OLED technology to produce paper-thin area lighting that can be easily integrated into any product. These lights can make products both more beautiful and more useful, leading to higher value in consumer goods. The Berlin-based start-up has managed to replace vacuum-based OLED production with a printing process, which has reduced unit costs by 90 percent compared to conventional OLEDs. Compared to LED production, the use of energy and resources can be reduced by around 95 percent. Plastics Insights spoke to co-founder and CTO Patrick Barkowski about the company’s beginnings, setbacks and successes. 🚀 Read the full interview (PI+): https://lnkd.in/dAG_kN5a #startup #oled #displays

Making products from a uniform material to facilitate recycling at the end of their life – is that realistic in our modern world? And is this even the right approach? In an interview with Plastics Insights, Professor Andreas Gross, Head of Training and Technology Transfer at Fraunhofer IFAM, and Anne-Laureen Lauven, Head of Marketing at Plasmatreat GmbH, take a different view. An often underestimated joining technology plays a key role here. 🎤 To the interview (PI+): https://lnkd.in/dSV2BtFy #recycling #composites

When a German compounder meets a Turkish materials manufacturer, it can lead to an intensive German-Turkish business relationship. This was the case with hapego and Politem. The Turkish materials specialists have been focusing on fiber recycling since the company was founded in 2006 – and have been on a “journey to sustainable raw materials” ever since. hapego has its ear to the ground for the German market, while research & development and production take place in Türkiye. Plastics Insights was there. 👉️ Read the article (PI+): https://lnkd.in/dHzPedjZ 🌍️ This interview is part of our Country Special Türkiye, which features on site reports and interviews with key players from the Turkish plastics industry.
