Empirical data on growth and hurdle share programs in German start-ups is hard to come by. We analysed almost 70 growth share programs, answering questions such as in which phase of the company start-ups launch such programs, to whom Growth Shares are issued, and how extensive these programs are in relation to the entire cap table. See the pdf of this post for our major findings. For further results as well as for our approach and important limitations, access OLNS#14 here: https://lnkd.in/e2AdNQGe Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP | Orrick Tech #entrepreneurship #startups #venturecapital #TeamOrrick

I am very excited to share that I have obtained the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification from the IAPP. The #AIGP certification focuses on the legal, technical, and ethical side of AI governance from an international perspective. It particularly covers: - Fundamentals of AI governance, including generally accepted definitions and types of AI, risks and harms posed by AI, unique characteristics of AI that require a comprehensive governance approach, and applying common principles of responsible AI; - establishing and communicating organizational expectations for AI governance; - establishing policies and procedures to apply throughout the AI life cycle; - the application of data privacy laws to AI; - the application of other types of laws to AI, including intellectual property, non-discrimination, consumer protection, and product liability laws; - the European Union's AI Act; - main industry standards for AI, including the OECD principles, framework, policies and recommended practices for trustworthy AI, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and Playbook, as well as the NIST ARIA program; - governing the (i) designing and building, (ii) collection and use of data in training and testing, as well as (iii) release, monitoring and maintenance of the AI model; - evaluating key factors and risks relevant to the decision to deploy the AI model; - assessing the AI model, including by performing an impact assessment, identifying applicable laws, evaluating key terms and risks in vendor and open source agreements, as well as understanding issues that are unique to a proprietary AI model; and - governing the deployment and use of the AI model. My special thanks goes to Kevin Fumai for the terrific AI governance content that he shares on LinkedIn with an admirable frequency and consistency. #IAPP #artificialintelligence #ai #aigovernance
