ISM 2025 is over, but a new chapter is just beginning. This year, the iconic pink carpet that welcomed 32,000 trade visitors wasn’t just eye-catching—it was sustainable! 🌍 For the first time, Koelnmesse used a Cradle-to-Cradle certified carpet in all hallways. Made primarily from recycled plastic, it was collected after the event by the supplier KVG and is now being fully recycled. ♻ The secret? A single-material design that allows the entire carpet to be shredded, melted, and turned into new products—no complex separation needed. To maximize recycling, the 16,000 m² of carpet was carefully rolled up before dismantling began, preventing damage and contamination. This marks a major step towards a circular economy in trade fair construction. Koelnmesse has adapted its procurement criteria to ensure that materials are not only recyclable but actually recycled.
