𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆: 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗟𝗛₂ 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿 A groundbreaking Joint Development Agreement (JDA) has been signed to establish the world’s first liquid #hydrogen (#LH₂) #import #corridor, connecting the port of Duqm in #Oman, the port of Amsterdam in the #Netherlands, and key logistics hubs in #Germany, including the port of Duisburg. The agreement enables the commercial-scale import of renewable fuel of non-biological origin (RFNBO)-compliant LH₂ to #Europe. The contract was signed during the state visit by His Majesty the Sultan of Oman to the Netherlands. Tata Steel Nederland, Port of Amsterdam, and ECOLOG are among the major industrial organisations that make this new trade corridor possible. The JDA builds on the existing partnership between Hydrom, the Omani Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Port of Amsterdam, ECOLOG, and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG for the development of the LH₂ corridor. This latest development brings the goal of delivering large-scale #greenhydrogen volumes from Oman to Europe by 2029 one step closer. Read the full story ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e-3cPq3V

CB&I and a consortium including Shell International Exploration and Production, GenH2, and the University of Houston have announced the completion of a first-of-its-kind, affordable, large-scale #liquidhydrogen (LH₂) #storage tank concept at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama. The project, which began in 2021 and is supported by the US Department of Energy (DOE), developed a novel non-vacuum tank design concept for large-scale (up to 100,000 m³) storage of #LH₂, which is anticipated to provide a substantial cost advantage over conventional vacuum-insulated tanks. This concept is being demonstrated through the construction, startup, and testing of a small-scale LH₂ demonstration tank at NASA MSFC. “The ability to store liquid #hydrogen at scale using a non-vacuum design is a pivotal advancement and opens the door to a more flexible, affordable global hydrogen trade infrastructure,” said Dr. Ramanan Krishnamoorti, Vice President of Energy and Innovation at the University of Houston.
