Declining sales and rising capital costs are putting high-tech production companies under pressure. In an article in the Salzburger Nachrichten entitled ‘Industry in the double mill’, Syngroup CEO Walter Woitsch paints a picture of how industry is dealing with a possible permanent drop in sales volumes. He can imagine that industry ‘will have to live with a new way of doing business with less resources and a lack of professionals. WIFO economist Agnes Kügler also expects an improvement in the situation from the second half of the year, but no major leaps by 2028.
