🔋 The electrification of the automotive industry is accelerating - and so is the number of used batteries. At the same time, the demand for critical materials like lithium and graphite is rising. To address both challenges, strong partnerships between automotive suppliers and recycling companies are essential. 🌍 That’s why Webasto and cylib are joining forces. Through our new cooperation, cylib will collect and recycle used batteries and production waste from our European sites. The overall goal: a sustainable and efficient battery lifecycle. ♻️ Using an innovative combination of mechanical, thermal, and hydrometallurgical processes, cylib recovers all key materials - including lithium and graphite - while reducing the carbon footprint by up to 30 percent compared to conventional methods. Our partnership also extends to “Design for Recycling” projects, ensuring that future battery systems are optimized for sustainability from the outset. Sustainable, circular, and future-proof - that’s the way forward for battery production. We are proud to take this step together.
