Vista at SET Tech Festival 2025 – Driving Innovation in energy and climate tech.🚀 What a fantastic day at SET Tech Festival 2025 in Berlin! The event brought together pioneers in #energyinnovation and #climatetech, and it was inspiring to see so many impactful solutions shaping a more #sustainablefuture. For nearly 30 years, we’ve been at the forefront of remote sensing-based solutions, transforming cutting-edge science into operational digital services that promote sustainable management of the Water-Energy-Food Nexus. At the event, the global community came together in Berlin to tackle the future of energy and climate tech. Supported by European Space Agency - ESA and ESA Space Solutions we were thrilled to have our colleague Hanna Deuscher showcase how our solutions contribute to building a more resilient future. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect and exchange ideas.

✨ The European Space Agency - ESA’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) energy team had a busy few days at the recent SET Tech Festival and Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue. Hosted in Berlin by the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council, the Set Tech Festival is an important feature on the sustainable energy calendar, with companies coming together to share best practice and discuss how to address the challenges ahead. On day one Asimina Syriou, Energy Lead for ESA BASS, joined the jury judging the 15 finalists in five categories pitching for the prestigious Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Award. Day two saw three BASS alumni companies: Italy’s i-EM, SolarCleano from Luxembourg and Germany’s VISTA Remote Sensing in Geosciences GmbH join our team at the ESA BASS booth. On the final day representatives from ESA BASS took part in the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, a major conference running parallel to and in cooperation with the SET Tech Festival. Organised by the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action the conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators to discuss energy transition, climate goals, and sustainable development. Asked about the event, Rita Rinaldo, Head of Applications, Projects and Studies Division at ESA said: “For us, it is an opportunity to bring forward the unique value that space has in supporting the energy transition and increasing awareness of currently planned initiatives, such as the ones on Green Hydrogen or Digitalisation of the Energy Infrastructure. Our collaboration with German Energy Agency (dena), a key member of the BASS Energy Task Force, is instrumental in bridging the gap between space innovation and the needs of the energy sector, ensuring that satellite technology plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable energy solutions. With CHILL-Y 🌶️, VISTA is shaping the future of agricultural remote sensing! 🚜🛰️ We are proud to lead the European Space Agency - ESA funded CHILL-Y project, preparing for the next generation of #Copernicus satellites! 🌍🌾 In collaboration with VITO Remote Sensing (Belgium), KappaZeta Ltd (Estonia), and EurA AG, we are simulating hyperspectral, thermal, and L-band radar data to extract critical plant parameters such as leaf area, crop structure, nitrogen uptake, and water content.
