Gesing Gesing, and Katharina Kreutzer. 📅 November 19: WEEKUp! at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences 🙌 Elnaz, our co-founder, shared UrbView’s story, focusing on the power of networking. It was an enriching exchange with many inspiring female founders and aspiring entrepreneurs thanks to Dr. Bianca Kauff Laura Schoppe Lars Kalusky , Diana S. Engelhard and so many others. 📅 November 21: GET NORD at Hamburg Messe 🚀 Thanks to AI. Hamburg, UrbView showcased alongside other AI-driven startups transforming building technology.  📅 November 23–25: Deutscher Business Angels Tag, Mainz 🤝 Three days filled with meaningful connections, and great food! At Booth 109, we had the chance to showcase UrbView and share our vision. It was a joy to revisit some of our old connections and meet so many new faces: Klaus Wächter, Cornelia Tremann, PhD, Heidrun Twesten, Robert Schmid, Christof Deinstorfer, Angelika Birk, Jörg Gudat, Julian Pfeifer, Corinna Haas, Matthias Frost, Julian von Hassell, Angelina Knopf, Sebastian Schwenke and many more. 📅 November 26–27: Social Impact Award Summit, Mannheim 🌍 The Social Impact Award Summit always feels like coming home. It was the very first place where we could imagine our idea taking shape and see it coming to life. Returning to this event is a reminder of our roots as a social impact startup. It was also a wonderful chance to reunite with so many friends who have been there for us from the very beginning: Lisa Schnägelberger, Lena Kim, Jonas Dinger, Gabriele Hartmann, Jakob Detering, Mirko Jabs, and Sophie Blank. 📅 November 28: IDEA Prize Event at Hamburg Rathaus 🎉 As previous recipients of the IDEA Prize, we returned to share our progress over the past two years. We also had the pleasure of meeting the winners of 2024- Myprotectify and casuu.care- and learning about their inspiring visions for creating greater equity.  Shout out to Senator Katharina Fegebank and Dr. Janina Zeh for their support in the past 2 years, to Julia Möhn for hosting the event and Alisa Möhrke, Aileen Puhlmann, Corinna Neubauer, and Isabell Raether, Florence Müller, Jan H. for joining us. 📅 December 14: GovTech Day, Dortmund 🚔 It was fantastic to connect with other GovTech startups and exchange insights about the challenges of working with government in Germany-a great way to wrap up 2024! 🚀 Fundraising Journey: The First Two Weeks 🚀 It’s officially been two weeks since we kicked off our fundraising, and it’s been an insightful journey so far! Our first pitch was at #Pitch&Pinot, organized by Bitkom and HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds, and hosted by the amazing David Kregler. With each pitch and meeting, we’re learning something new—not just about the process but also about ourselves. One thing that stands out is the difference between events organized by VCs and those by business angels. It’s been eye-opening to see how different the dynamics can be! We’re currently in the early-seed stage and looking for investors focused on #AI, #Impact, and #Urbantech. 🔍 **Exploring Urban Land Usage with Median Filtering at UrbView** 🌆   At UrbView, we're committed to understanding and optimizing urban landscapes. One of our key analytical tools is median filtering, which allows us to gain insights into land usage across different city scales. Here’s how we do it:   1️⃣ **Index Selection**: We start by selecting a continuous index that is proportional to the size of each building. This index helps us measure and categorize the buildings efficiently.   2️⃣ **Median Filtering**: By applying median filtering, we analyze the size distribution of buildings to determine biases towards the median land usage. This process highlights the central tendency of building sizes and their distribution across the city.   3️⃣ **Urban Design Insights**: Through this analysis, we can identify areas that favor sparser urban designs, which can facilitate mobility but may impact visibility. Conversely, we can also pinpoint regions that do not prioritize pedestrian flow, providing crucial data for urban planning.   By leveraging median filtering, we offer valuable insights into how urban areas can balance the needs of mobility, visibility, and pedestrian flow. 🌟 What a ride it's been since our debut at OMR! 🌟 It’s been exactly 2 months since our adventure at OMR. We took our time to follow up with some of the contacts we made and set up all the meetings. Now, it is the time to reflect on the incredible experience and the valuable lessons we learned. OMR 2024 was nothing short of amazing, filled with energy, innovation, and inspiration! 🚀 We set out with a few clear goals for UrbView, and here’s a quick rundown of how things went: Our Goals and Lessons Learned Crowdfunding Kickoff: Our main goal was to launch our crowdfunding campaign and rally support for our cause. We talked to over 200 amazing visitors at our stand who showed great interest. Unfortunately, we didn't secure any donations. Lesson learned? We should've launched the campaign a couple of weeks earlier and gathered initial support from friends and family. That way, our webpage would’ve had a solid backing, boosting trust and donations from new visitors. Networking with Investors: Our second goal was to network with investors and connect with key players. We nailed this about 60%, meeting some fantastic people, but missed out on others because we poured most of our energy into our booth. Next time, we'll prioritize networking to maximize these golden opportunities. Unexpected Wins: We were thrilled to get featured in Hamburger Morgenpost (Morgenpost Verlag GmbH), which created a great buzz around UrbView and boosted our credibility. Press coverage like this is gold for attracting investors, customers, and pilot projects. Plus, participating in OMR itself was a huge credibility boost! And let's not forget the joy of seeing familiar faces in the impact startup sector, like Jonas Dinger, Lisa Schnägelberger. Plus, making new connections with incredible people like Laura Werner, Nina Paul , Ana-Cristina Grohnert and many more. .
