🚀 RubNatCell Project: Towards More Sustainable and Durable Tyres 🌱 We are excited to announce that the RubNatCell Project, funded by the Unite! Seed Fund, is leading the development of natural rubber and cellulose nanocrystal composites to enhance tyre wear resistance and fatigue life. 🌍 🔧 This project, coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)  aims to replace carbon black – a common additive in tyres with significant environmental impact – with more sustainable alternatives. By integrating cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), an eco-friendly material, we aim to create natural rubber composites with improved mechanical properties and greater durability. 🔬 Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Four universities from the Unite! alliance – UPC, INP-UGA, PoliTo, and TUDa – are joining forces to investigate how these composites can extend tire lifespan and improve performance, using advanced techniques such as infrared thermography, atomic force microscopy, and high-performance simulations. 🚀 Unite! Seed Fund supports the MineXR project to enhance mining education with Extended Reality (XR)  The MineXR project, funded by the Unite! Seed Fund and coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), is developing immersive Extended Reality (XR) environments to improve safety and practical training for mining engineering students. 🌍  💡 Objective: Create a virtual mining environment where students can conduct practical training and experiments without risk, enhancing safety and learning outcomes.
