We are thrilled to share an important milestone for quantum research at T-Labs! Our Berlin-based Quantum Research Lab, in collaboration with Qunnect, has achieved a new record for entanglement distribution over commercial fiber: - 30 kilometers of active, field-deployed telco fiber - 17 days of uninterrupted quantum entanglement - 99% fidelity This experiment marks a crucial step toward enabling the quantum internet. It shows that high-fidelity polarization qubits (essential for quantum computing and sensing) can run in parallel with classical data traffic on a telco-grade fiber network. The field trial is a proof point of what’s possible when deep research meets real infrastructure. It was presented at OFC 2025 by Deutsche Telekom's R&D Architect Matheus Sena, where we reinforced the belief that future networks will be shaped by quantum physics and built through collaboration. T-Labs’ quantum research strategy focuses on long-term partnerships with academia and industry to explore secure communications and efficient network architectures powered by quantum technologies. We look forward to what the future holds! #QuantumResearch #QuantumInternet #Telco

After 3 years of collaborative research, the BMWK-funded CampusOS project has concluded - laying the groundwork for open, modular private 5G networks in Europe. Last week’s closing event at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI marked a strong step toward future-ready connectivity! At T-Labs, our work focused on market analytics, network digital twins, and confidential computing for O-RAN. We developed the “network tracker” tool to analyze trends in spectrum use and private network deployments across Germany. Our colleagues at Deutsche Telekom Security tested confidential computing for cloud-native 5G systems, enabling secure, privacy-preserving processing. Meanwhile, we advanced network digital twins with a real-world demonstrator in a connected mobility use case. We thank Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, Atesio GmbH, brown-iposs GmbH, Bosch Research and all project partners - this was an important milestone in Europe’s path toward sovereign and innovation-driven 5G networks. #OpenNetworks #CampusOS #5G #DigitalTwin

💪✨ #GirlsDay #WomenInTech #Inspiration #AugmentedReality #GreenStreaming #CodingGirls #digitalAtSchool #goodMagenta #growingTogether #DeutscheTelekom

Quantum tech research is advancing fast, and so are the risks and opportunities. In a recent interview with BERLIN QUANTUM, Dr. Oliver Holschke and Marc Geitz from the T-Labs Quantum Lab shared how we're helping shape Germany's quantum future. Security remains a key driver as quantum computers could compromise today’s encryption. With initiatives like BMBF-co-funded research projects and QUTAC, we’re exploring how quantum technologies can be integrated into real-world network environments - securely, efficiently and collaboratively. From quantum-secure communication to research-grade fiber networks and real-world experiments with university teams, our mission is to bridge foundational research with telco-grade infrastructure. At T-Labs, we believe in co-creating this future with academia, industry, and public stakeholders - quantum technologies won't evolve in isolation. 🔗 Read the full interview here (in German): https://lnkd.in/dKkVrVPy #QuantumLab #QuantumCommunication

Germany is at a crossroads in its digital transformation - will we lead? This week, our R&D Chapter Lead Karina Otto and hubraum's Incubation Lead Tim Akgül were at Transform 2025 in Berlin to join the discussions on Germany’s role in the global innovation landscape, sustainable growth, and the urgency of digital transformation. 💡 The message was clear: strategic action is needed now! Karina & Tim shared their top takeaways: - Germany must think bigger: digital innovation requires clear goals, a strong narrative and faster execution cycles. This was echoed by Ralf Wintergerst (President of Bitkom), who emphasized that "Germany needs a North Star - our North Star is a digital Germany: digitally sovereign, digitally connected, digitally managed and digitally skilled." - Policymakers alone won’t drive transformation - businesses must take the lead. Industry leaders like Dr. Tobias Meyer (CEO of DHL Group), Bernd Herrmann (Member of the Central Management Board at Würth Group), and Hanna Hennig (CIO of Siemens) reinforced this, highlighting the importance of corporate-driven innovation. - With Europe as a whole competing globally, cross-border collaboration and investment in deep-tech are critical. The presence of speakers such as Jörg Kukies (German Minister of Finance) and Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider (Federal Data Protection Commissioner) highlighted the important role of policy and regulations in shaping digital transformation. For T-Labs and hubraum, this reinforces our commitment to co-innovation, AI-driven R&D and ecosystem-driven progress. Through supporting initiatives like the T Challenge and our deep tech research partnerships with universities and beyond, we help accelerate innovation and support Europe in remaining competitive in the digital era. #DigitalTransformation #DeepTech #Transform2025 Fraunhofer IIS | Telekom TechBoost | Robert Kelemen | Project A
