For our partner, ultrarunner Thomas Röhricht, the challenge intensified just kilometers into the race. Running in the dark, relying on tech, a crucial moment arrived. Something felt 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨. The lead pack, following the official GPS, seemed to be heading off course. Doubt crept in. Thomas's own smartwatch confirmed his gut feeling: the coordinates were drifting. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐚: Trust the provided tech & the group ahead, or trust his 𝘰𝘸𝘯 data and instinct? 🤔 Thomas chose his 'system'. He made the hard call to turn back, confirming a GPS malfunction had indeed led others astray. The cost? Significant time lost, the main field far ahead. A moment of frustration that could end a race. Giving up would be easy. But Thomas embodies resilience. As he said: “I didn’t want to be thrown off by external noise. I needed to rely on my own system, and run my own race.” Head down against the biting wind, blocking out the solitude and doubt, he focused only on his rhythm, his data, his goal. Little by little, he clawed back the distance with relentless focus. 🏃♂️➡️ And he didn't just recover. We’re excited to share the first outcome of a collaboration initiated by digital.industry: A multi-agent setup for real-time maintenance of agricultural machinery, developed by the Ferdinand-Steinbeis-Institut together with Bosch Software and Digital Solutions and SPREAD AI. The project was brought to life by PANKHURI VERMA, with strong support from the Bosch team. Kai Hackbarth, Head of Products and Solutions Europe at Bosch, shared his thoughts: 👉 “The initial results are promising, as the solution was implemented quickly and has already helped to relieve service teams during testing.” This demonstrator is a great example of how digital.industry connects leading industry and research partners to explore the future of smart, connected industrial products.
