Access to resources like #funding and #networks is not distributed equally. #Founders from underrepresented backgrounds such as FLINTA, BIPoC, queer individuals, and people with migration histories often face systemic barriers in the #startup ecosystem. ➡️The Summer School for #Diverse #Startups powered by SpinLab & HHL DIGITAL SPACE - The Digital Transformation Platform wants to change that. From July 21 to 25 in #Leipzig, this in-person program empowers  #founders with startup skills including business modeling, financing, pitch training, and more. Participants are supported through coaching and mentoring by experienced founders and #investors. The SpinLab Group hosted its first full team day of 2025, a great onsite opportunity to align, exchange knowledge, and strengthen collaboration across all teams. We explored automation best practices, shared our favorite tools and workflows, and dove into a hands-on sales workshop focused on how to communicate our value across different stakeholders. But it wasn’t all slide decks and strategy. To wrap things up, we traded our laptops for wooden spoons and ended the day with a team cooking class at Kochstudio Feuerwassereis. 🍽️ The result? A three-course menu that not only looked great but tasted even better. The pressure on the #chemical and #energy sectors to decarbonize continues to intensify. With growing policy development and demand for sustainable materials, scalable alternatives to fossil-based products are urgently needed❗ As part of the Smart Infrastructure Challenge in collaboration with ExxonMobil, Equinor, K+S Gruppe, and ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH, Challenge 3️⃣ focuses on identifying implementable solutions that can deliver lower-emission finished products and intermediates in real industrial environments. We’re calling for solutions from #startups and #scaleups that address: 🔹Advanced, scalable, and accessible feedstocks (e.g., biofuels, renewable carbon sources) 🔹Highly-efficient novel conversion processes (e.g., step-skipping, process intensification) 🔹Dispatch-ready intermediates for downstream use (e.g., ammonia, methanol, hydrogen carriers) 🔹Low-emission commodity products (fuels, chemicals, and related materials) The applications ends on April 30th. +++ SpinLab alumni Noxtua, previously known as Xayn, has successfully secured €80.7 million in #funding +++ 💵 This is the biggest alumni funding round in our network. 😮The series B round was led by C.H.Beck. Additional #investors include Northern Data, Dentons and SpinLab Partner CMS in Deutschland. Noxtua is an alumnus of the 3rd SpinLab class in 2016 with Leif-Nissen Lundbæk, PhD where it participated in a challenge by our partner Porsche Leipzig GmbH. Noxtua offers the first sovereign legal AI platform in 🇪🇺 Europe, built with exclusive access to structured legal data from C.H.Beck, ensuring both legal precision and full compliance with EU data protection laws. The technology was originally developed at University of Oxford and Imperial College London and later developed in collaboration with CMS. #SmartInfrastructureHub

91% of #venturecapital still goes to all-male founding teams. 😭 According to the Female Founders Monitor 2025, published by Startup-Verband, #startups led by women founders continue to face major barriers in access to capital and networks. The share of #women among startup founders in Germany has dropped to just 18.8%. The problem is not a lack of women who want to build a business, but a lack of access. To close out #marketing focus week, we introduced a new format at SpinLab: Pitch & Dinner. 🍽️ #Startups pitched in a relaxed dinner setting, not to investors, but to each other and our mentors. The goal: real feedback in a safe space, where everyone can learn and improve. We added a fun twist with Emoji Voting: 🦁 Lion – “You roared!” 🤖 Robot – “Could improve.” The takeaways of the night for a strong pitch: • Keep it simple. Your audience should get the core message in seconds. • Start with the problem, make it relatable. • Show why your solution stands out. • End with a clear ask or next step.
