Why are syringes still packed in plastic blisters when a more sustainable solution exists? 🌱 Packaging waste and lack of storage capacity are two substantial challenges for hospitals. Bulky, single-use plastic packaging creates waste and needs a lot of storage room. How can we decrease these challenges? That's why SCHOTT Pharma and its Alliance to Zero partners Schreiner Group and Körber Pharma have developed a new packaging concept for prefilled syringes that reduces plastic and packaging waste. The new SCHOTT TOPPAC® infuse blister-free syringe concept allows the use of cartons instead of polymer blisters, which are easier to open for nurses and doctors, less space-consuming for disposal, and easier to recycle. Blister-free packaging minimizes waste and reduces space as well as the CO2 footprint. 📦 3 times less storage space in hospitals* 🗑️ 80 % or 500 kg less plastic and packaging waste* 🌱 20 % more syringes per container results in up to 58 % lower CO2 footprint during transport*   This blister-free syringe concept marks a significant milestone in the journey towards more sustainable pharmaceutical packaging, setting a new standard for the industry. Redefining safety, efficiency, and sustainability with the next-generation SCHOTT TOPPAC® infuse. https://lnkd.in/dDputdRs *All numbers are valid for 151.200 units of one sort for a 5 ml SCHOTT TOPPAC® infuse syringe. Given values are valid for best-case scenarios. PCF data are not considered.
