European resilience through innovation: Takeaways from our Family Day VIII
Last Thursday, we brought together our portfolio founders, shareholders and selected ecosystem partners for an afternoon of bold founder pitches, candid investor discussions and a powerful keynote lineup - all under this year’s headline: European resilience.
Kicking off with Jens Südekum, economist, government advisor and co-architect of Germany’s €500bn+ industrial investment package, we explored what it will take for Europe to regain economic strength and strategic autonomy. The message: the opportunity is real, but it requires speed. Across the construction, energy, real estate and infrastructure sectors, agile and tech-driven companies are more in demand than ever.
In that spirit, we heard pitches from some of the most promising startups in our pipeline, debated the geopolitical risks facing European tech in a lively panel discussion, celebrated recent successes from our portfolio founders and listened to seasoned entrepreneurs like Sander van de Rijdt (PlanRadar) share how to build unicorns in turbulent markets.
While the world’s attention shifts away from the US - with growing concerns over political volatility, talent flight and capital rotation - Europe’s moment may just be arriving. If we want to seize it, collaboration between venture capital, private equity, industry and public financing must become the new normal.
We’d like to thank everyone who made this day so special, from our guests onsite at our HQ in Kreuzberg to those who joined via livestream. Let’s keep building, together.
