Entdecken Sie unser Online-Magazin! • 🏭 🔵 The Swiss company Swan offers various analytical instruments for monitoring water circuits. These devices are essential in many industries because contaminated water can cause considerable damage to plants and the environment. In hazardous areas, a purged and pressurized enclosure solution from Pepperl+Fuchs ensures that these instruments do not represent a potential ignition source. The in-depth article in amplify, our online magazine, sheds light on the complex area of water analysis. At the same time, it illustrates the expertise of Swan Analytische Instrumente AG as one of the pioneers of online water quality measurement. • ⭐ What makes our new inductive distance sensors so special? They are the first devices of their kind that can also detect speed and acceleration—both with individually definable limit values. -- Speed Measurement -- The sensors measure reliably even at very high object speeds of up to 3 m/s. They carry out two freely configurable speed measurements in one process. -- Acceleration Measurement -- From the two determined speeds, the acceleration of the object is calculated. The acceleration of an actuating element can be used to draw conclusions about the condition of wearing parts or the degree of soiling—for valves and shock absorbers, for example. Parameterized threshold values can trigger timely warnings to avoid damage, prevent unplanned downtime, and initiate maintenance operations in time. a: Acceleration; v: Velocity; dt: Delta t Are you interested in learning more about the sensors? • 🔋🚗 Over the last months, we have presented a wide range of battery manufacturing applications for our sensor solutions. Here are three more in the area of battery module production: 1️⃣ Robot Positioning During Final Assembly (top picture) The VOS 2-D universal vision sensor enables industrial robots to pick up the fully assembled and inspected battery modules and place them in battery packs. For this process step, the sensor calculates the position and orientation of the modules with an integrated vision tool. 2️⃣ Monitoring the Manufacturing Process (middle) The VOC industrial event camera enables event-driven video recordings up to 60 seconds before and after a defined trigger signal. This allows relevant situations of battery module manufacturing to be analyzed in an efficient manner. 3️⃣ Reliable Position and Completeness Check (bottom) The SmartRunner Matcher checks the battery cells for their number and orientation. This laser sensor records the height profile of the battery cells and then compares it with a taught-in reference profile. • 🤔 ❓ What is purging and pressurization? It is a safe and cost-effective type of explosion protection that allows electrical equipment to be used in a standard enclosure in potentially explosive atmospheres. Our blog article offers a deep dive into the topic, including the following three aspects: ▪ Function principle ▪ Gas applications ▪ Potentially explosive dust atmospheres Read it now: https://lnkd.in/eQvSPv-X #AutomationPassion

  • 🔋 🆗 The quality control of battery modules ensures that all cells are present and in the correct position. As the modules are usually in motion on a conveyor belt or roller conveyor, the assembly should be checked fully automatically. • 🟢 🔴 Open or closed? The simple question has major implications in chemical and petrochemical plants. Many of the manual valves in these locations are not yet monitored using an automated process. Retrofitting with dual inductive sensors makes it possible to monitor whether the valves are opened and closed correctly. There are various ways to install the sensors.
