We are proud to witness that one of our parent companies, H&R Group receives a #funding approval of up to #116M€ for its power-to-heat project, which considerably #reduces #CO₂ #emissions at its Salzbergen production site in #Germany. The funding awarded yesterday by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action includes both, investment and operating costs for its climate-friendly production process as part of the German climate protection agreement. The funding serves to balance the transformation costs causing temporary competitive disadvantages compared to conventional processes. Our parent company pioneers the way towards a CO2-neutral production in the energetic transformation process for the #decarbonisation of the chemical industry. KG at Deutscher Bundestag***   ***H2 🫧acceleration should start on a broader scale to support competitiveness of innovation in Germany as the climate crisis is picking up speed***   Last Wednesday, we had the honour of following an invitation from MP and head of energy politics, Michael Kruse (FDP), to the public hearing at the #CommitteeforClimateProtectionandEnergy in the Deutscher Bundestag🏛️, Berlin. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude.   In that hearing, experts from various sectors discussed the #legislative #proposal ⚖️📜aimed at accelerating #hydrogen 🫧availability and adjusting regulatory frameworks to support hydrogen production in Germany 🇩🇪 . While the proposal was largely welcomed, participants identified areas for improvement, including the need for more comprehensive measures and better integration of transport, infrastructure, and storage considerations to ensure a robust hydrogen economy 📈.   Our CEO, Detlev Woesten, as one of the experts in the committee, particularly highlighted hydrogen technology to be a key factor for the #decarbonisation of various industries such as the energy, transport and the base material sector. This refers to hydrogen derivatives like #eFuels 💧🌱for the aviation ✈️ and maritime 🚢 sector as well as the various products of the chemical 🧪 industry. On 3 July, P2X-Europe GmbH & Co. KG held a pivotal meeting with a distinguished #Delegation from #Oman 🇴🇲represented by H.E. pankaj khimji and Firas Mohsin Al Balushi, and Wafa Ba’Omar and Moosa AlKharusi from InvestOMAN. This meeting marks a significant step towards realising P2X-Europe's vision of scaling up its worldwide #synthetic #renewable #hydrocarbons 🫧🌱production at commercial level, where Oman could play a decisive role. During the meeting, both parties engaged in productive discussions concerning best locations for #biomass 🌱and #green #hydrogen 🫧 production, the export of #PtL commodities, and exploring further touch points for collaboration. Remember: 2030 marks an important milestone highlighting the introduction of a 1.2 % #eSaf blending quota in the European aviation ✈️ market! So #why Oman 🇴🇲? Here’s some key facts: - Hydrocarbon production is playing an increasingly dominant role in Oman’s hitherto fossil fuel based traditional oil and gas economy 🏭. - Oman targets to become #net #zero by #2050 and is on track to become the sixth largest exporter 🚢 of hydrogen globally by #2030, as the country aims to significantly ramp up domestic production of hydrogen from renewable electricity ⚡️. -The country is well placed to produce large quantities of renewable hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels thanks to its high-quality renewable resources (both solar, PV and onshore wind), vast land availability, its existing pipeline infrastructure and a convenient export location for international markets 🌎. This year’s Hannover Messe gave a very important spotlight on the role of hydrogen to reach climate targets in different industry sectors like mobility and the base material industry like the chemical sector. The international fare also underlined the importance of a carbon-management strategy and CCS/CCU concepts. Finally, the German-Norwegian Energy Conference "Renewable Dialogue -North Sea Energy Hub", that I had the pleasure to participate, clearly demonstrated Norway’s ambition to play a vital role both on the hydrogen as well as on the carbon side of the transition to climate neutrality.
