Munich Airport has officially completed the modernization of the central security checkpoint in Terminal 2. All lanes are now equipped with advanced CT scanner technology, offering passengers a faster, more convenient and secure screening experience. The new systems allow multiple passengers to present their hand luggage simultaneously. Liquids and electronic devices can remain in the bag, while automated explosive detection and 3D imaging reduce the need for manual checks and speed up the overall process. The Sicherheitsgesellschaft am Flughafen München mbH (SGM) carries out passenger and baggage screening on behalf of and under the technical supervision of the Government of Upper Bavaria. Lufthansa will expand its services to #Romania In addition to Bukarest, Timişoara, Sibiu, and Cluj-Napoca, #Oradea will become the 5th Romanian destination within Lufthansa Group’s route network ex Munich. Operated by Lufthansa CityLine CRJ 900 aircraft, this new service will be offered three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays as of June 1, 2025. Oradea, located near the Hungarian border, is a key gateway for leisure travelers to the Carpathian Mountains and nearby thermal resorts. Further, it is rapidly emerging as an important hub with its modernized airport experiencing increasing passenger numbers. Since yesterday, March 30, 2025, easyJet has been connecting Munich Airport with Rome-Fiumicino! The new route offers twice-daily flights, arriving in Munich at 09:05 and 16:50 and departing for #Rome at 09:40 and 17:25. With this addition, easyJet continues to expand its presence in Munich, further strengthening its network. Rome now joins Naples, Milan Malpensa, London Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh as the airline’s sixth destination from Munich.
