The uEye EVS, powered by the event-based IMX636 sensor from Sony Semicon (EU) and PROPHESEE, captures even the smallest movements in real-time. Its compact size (29x29x17mm) and high dynamic range make it perfect for low-light conditions. 🌙 By only detecting changes in the scene, it transmits 10-1000x less data than traditional cameras. This efficient data processing saves storage space and computing time, with a temporal resolution under 100µs. Round 2️⃣ of our Q&A about our brand new event-based cameras!📷 Here we go: How exactly does event-based vision capture image data in real time? 👉Just swipe over for the short answer. 💡The long answer: If the contrast of a pixel value changes beyond a certain threshold, a so-called ‘change event’ is triggered. The information of an event includes the X/Y position, the polarity of the event and a timestamp. Each pixel acts independently of its pixel neighbours and with a temporal resolution of 1µs.
