➡️ HORN to construct 170 t/d furnace for Sichuan Skyhorse Glass For its new container glass factory in Shehong city, the famous Chinese container glass manufacturer Sichuan Skyhorse chose glass melting technology specialist HORN for engineering, delivery, installation and start-up of the entire production plant.   The new sustainable end fired furnace is designed with six forehearths for the production of container glass. In appliance of the latest low-CO2 glass melting technology, the furnace will have a melting area of 101 m² to produce super flint glass. ➡️ HORN comissions furnace for PGP Glass in India The Indian premium supplier PGP Glass Pvt. Ltd. has successfully begun operations at its plant in Kosamba, India, at the end of January 2025. In this greenfield project, glass melting technology specialist HORN has equipped the new production facility with the latest manufacturing technology and machinery to produce high-quality cosmetic container glass products in flint. The new environmental friendly furnace is designed for a pull of 120 t/d. Under the construction supervision of HORN together with its subsidiary company HORN India Pvt. ➡️ HORN supplies oxyfuel furnace to Orora In December 2024, the Australian glass manufacturer has fired up a glass melting furnace for high quality wine bottles at its Gawler, South Australia, facility. Glass melting technology specialist HORN carried out the design, supply and cold repair works of Orora´s new 475 t/d oxyfuel furnace which is one of Australia’s most sustainable wine glass furnaces. The existing recuperative furnace was replaced and converted into a most modern and environmentally friendly oxy – gas heated furnace which will deliver even more sustainable glass containers with less carbon footprint. ➡️ HORN baut 300 tpd Solarglaslinie Als einer der Branchenführer bei der Umsetzung schlüsselfertiger Projekte erhielt HORN von Glass Technology den Zuschlag für die Lieferung einer neuen U-Flammenwanne für Solarglas. Die neue 300 t/d-Linie wird mit der neuesten HORN-Technologie ausgestattet und ist für die Herstellung von eisenarmem Solarglas mit Antireflexionsbeschichtung ausgelegt. Das Greenfield Projekt wird in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten auf einer Fläche von 10 ha errichtet. Bei diesem Greenfield Solarglasprojekt ist HORN für alles verantwortlich, von der Rohstoffversorgung über das heiße Ende bis hin zur Zuschnittlinie und Lagertechnik. Die Solarglasproduktion ist mit der kompletten Verarbeitungstechnik für die Vorder- und Rückseite von Solarmodulen ausgestattet. HORN ist auch für die komplette Technik der Anlage mit modernsten Engineering-Lösungen verantwortlich.   In der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2025 wird die Solarglaslinie bereits ihren Betrieb aufgenommen haben. The new 300 t/d line will be equipped with the latest HORN technology and is designed to produce low-iron solar glass with Anti Reflective Coating. The glass factory will be set up from scratch in the United Arab Emirates on a surface of 10 ha. In this greenfield solar glass project, the HORN planning staff is responsible for everything, from the supply of raw materials over hot end, up to the cutting line and storage technology. The solar glass production plant is equipped with the full processing technology for Front and Back Glass of Solar Panels. Dabei kommt die bewährte Oxyfuel-Technology zusammen mit dem hauseigenem E-Fusion Powerboosting als Hybrid-Technik zur Anwendung. Die neue Hybrid-Oxyfuel-Wanne für das Werk in Lohr am Main wird zukünftig Behälterglas deutlich nachhaltiger produzieren. The new hybrid oxyfuel furnace for the plant in Lohr am Main will produce container glass much more sustainably in the future. Under the construction supervision of HORN, the new melting furnace will initially be built with four forehearths from the HORN GCS301-advanced series in the first quarter of 2025. ➡️ Molybdän-Wall: Strömungsbarriere für optimale Glasqualität in Schmelzwannen Der Molybdän-Wall wird in Bassins von Schmelzwannen im Bereich nach dem Quellpunkt eingesetzt, um den Schmelzteil vom Läuterteil zu trennen und damit eine Kurzschlussströmung zu verhindern. Er wirkt dabei als Strömungsbarriere, die das Bodenglas zwingt, in den heißen Bereich des Quellpunktes aufzusteigen, dort letzte Relikte aus dem Gemenge aufzulösen und Läuterblasen aus der Schmelze auszutreiben. Damit wird eine bessere Qualität des geschmolzenen Glases bei vergleichbarem Energieeintrag und/oder eine höhere Schmelzleistungen bei gleichbleibender Glasqualität gewährleistet. Der Mo-Wall zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Funktion dauerhaft bis zum Ende der Wannenreise uneingeschränkt gewährleistet bleibt. Der Wall ist für alle üblichen Glastypen und alle fossil beheizten Schmelzwannen mit und ohne Boosting geeignet. 💻 https://lnkd.in/eWbYqJDN __________ ➡️ Molybdenum Wall: Flow Barrier for optimal glass quality in melting furnaces The molybdenum wall is used in basins of melting tanks in the area after the hot spot to separate the melting part from the refining part and thus prevent a short-circuit flow. It acts as a flow barrier, forcing the bottom glass to rise into the hot area of the hot spot, where it dissolves the last relics from the batch to refine bubbles in the glass. This ensures a better quality of the molten glass with a comparable energy input and/or a higher melting capacity with the same glass quality. The Mo-Wall is characterised by the fact that its function remains unrestricted until the end of the furnace journey. ➡️ Auer Lighting vertraut auf fortschrittliche Technologie von HORN   Als Tochterfirma der HORN Glass Industries AG erhielt die JSJ Jodeit GmbH von Auer Lighting den Auftrag über eine neue 20 t/d Hybrid-Schmelzwanne für das Werk in Bad Gandersheim. Der Auftrag umfasste die Schmelzwanne für die Produktion von Borosilikatglas mit drei Vorherden und einem Übergang zu bereits bestehenden Vorherden. Um sowohl den Einschmelzvorgang als auch das Läutern des Glases zu unterstützen, sind mehrere elektrische Zusatzbeheizungen (HORN E-Fusion Power Boosting) im Boden der Schmelzwanne eingebaut. Damit kann die maximale Tonnage besonders flexibel sowohl mit 100% fossiler Energie als auch mit bis zu ca. 30% elektrischem Anteil geschmolzen werden. Mit der Inbetriebnahme der neuen elektrischen Glasschmelzwanne wurde ein weiterer wichtiger Schritt in Richtung Produktion mit geringerem CO2-Ausstoß gemacht. Diese Hybrid-Schmelzwanne ist ein Beispiel für die Anpassung an veränderte Marktanforderungen bei gleichzeitiger Performance-Verbesserung. So kann der Wannenbetreiber jetzt äußerst flexibel auf Energiepreisschwankungen durch Verschiebung des Elektroenergieanteils bei gleichbleibend guter Glasqualität reagieren. 💻 https://lnkd.in/dwx8JnEs __________ ➡️ Auer Lighting relies on advanced technology from HORN As a subsidiary of HORN, JSJ Jodeit received an order from Auer Lighting for a new 20 t/d hybrid furnace for its plant in Bad Gandersheim. The order included the furnace for the production of borosilicate glass with three forehearths and a transition to existing forehearths. To support both the melting process and the refining of the glass, several additional electric boosting systems (HORN E-Fusion Power Boosting) are installed in the bottom of the melting tank. This means that the maximum pull rate can be melted particularly flexibly with both 100% fossil energy and up to approx. 30% electrical energy. With the commissioning of the new all electric glass melting furnace, another important step has been taken towards production with lower CO2 emissions. This hybrid furnace is an example of adapting to changing market requirements while at the same time improving performance. The furnace operator can now react extremely flexibly to energy price fluctuations by shifting the proportion of electrical energy while maintaining the same high glass quality. 💻 https://lnkd.in/dN2zsux2
