Available now: Our 2024 market study on the service provider market for Data & Analytics in German-speaking countries. In over 40 pages, we describe the latest developments in the exciting market for D&A services – based on data for almost 500 companies in this segment. At the core of the analysis are the “D&A specialists”, companies focused on that segment. As in previous years, I will be publishing aggregated excerpts from the study here (two parts have already been published, see reply) We start today with the Top 15 – based on the number of employees. Some notes: - Windhoff Group, Woodmark Consulting AG, D ONE – Data Driven Value Creation and Ultra Tendency International had a strong year and moved up one place - Parsionate entered our top 15 – it has since been taken over by Accenture, but still operates as an independent unit - HMS Analytical Software | Data Science & Software Engineering Solutions was reclassified as a “D&A specialist” and entered the top 10 - Dataciders GmbH and synvert, two of the “consolidators” in the D&A market, are being virtually presented as groups for the first time – both companies are increasingly operating as an integrated company. One comment is very important to me again this year: size is an important factor for many projects, but not the only one. There are large implementation partners with their great scalability, excellent medium-sized specialists, and really good small, focused “boutiques” for data & analytics, which together make up the large and vibrant D&A consulting market in German-speaking countries. Some of the top trends within the top 15: - In general, the year was weak for the large D&A specialists, quite unlike previous years when they were always at the top of the growth charts. This year, the medium-sized consultantcies are - clearly - at the top - Microsoft is becoming the “standard” partnership for D&A – 11 of the top 15 (and all of the top 6) name Microsoft as top 3 partner, followed by Databricks (7) and Snowflake (6) - The SAP ecosystem is becoming more open: in the past, it was a kind of “island”, but we no longer have a pure SAP D&A specialist in our top 15: Windhoff has added Microsoft and Databricks as core partners this year. - M&A activity is generally strong and also affects our top 15: Beside Parsionate, Avantum (All for One | Analytics & Insights), verovis (valantic) and Windhoff (investment by AURELIUS) – four of last year's top 15 have recently been taken over. Furthermore, some of the top 15 had been active on the buyer side.
