🌍 Tomorrow is World Water Day 💧 At Aurum Impact, we see water as one of the most critical impact topics of our time. It is fundamental to life on Earth – shaping ecosystems, agriculture, energy production, sanitation, and recreation. The planetary boundaries framework highlights the urgency of addressing water-related issues such as freshwater depletion, ocean acidification, and pollution, all of which demand diverse and innovative solutions. Beyond environmental concerns, water is also an emerging driver of social conflicts, influencing migration patterns and geopolitical stability. During our water deep dive at Aurum Impact (more to come!), we identified four key impact challenges associated with water: 🫗 Availability → Global freshwater demand is projected to exceed supply by 40% by 2030. 👌 Quality → More than 80% of the world’s wastewater is discharged into the environment untreated, according to the United Nations. 🫷 Access → Access to basic drinking water varies significantly by region, with some areas having only 64% of the population covered. ⛈️ Water-Related Disasters → Over 90% of all natural disasters are linked to water. In Europe alone, floods between May and September 2023 caused more than $17 billion in damages. We are eager to connect with startups tackling these critical water challenges. If you know of a startup aligned with our vision, feel free to reach out – we’d love to hear from you! #WorldWaterDay #ImpactInvesting

🚀 New Partnership Alert! We’re thrilled to share that we’re partnering with Social Impact Republic to strengthen the foundation for social entrepreneurship in Germany. 🌍✨ Challenges like an aging society and growing inequality demand innovative solutions. Yet, the potential of tech-driven approaches remains largely untapped, and social entrepreneurs face hurdles like limited funding and resources. Social Impact Republic is working to change this by uniting leading startup hubs—including Founders Foundation gGmbH, UnternehmerTUM, PHINEO gAG, appliedAI Institute for Europe gGmbH, and Digitales Innovationszentrum Rostock GmbH—and empowering founders to tackle pressing issues in care, inclusion, and more through technology. Their goal? To build scalable ventures that deliver massive social impact and create the next generation of impact unicorns. 🦄 We're proud to join this effort and can’t wait to see what Social Impact Republic will do for the future of social innovation in Germany. cc: Thomas Zeller Michael Stockerl Miki Yokoyama Kelley Luyken #SocialImpact #ImpactInvesting #SocialEntrepreneurship

2025 is here, and we're starting off with an exciting announcement. 🎉 At our team holiday gathering just a few weeks ago, we used bcause to pick causes that matter to us and donated to organizations fighting for social and ecological change. From women's shelters to climate protection and democracy initiatives, we collectively put our values into action. It was a powerful reminder of the causes we care about and the impact we can make as a team. And here's the best part: this gathering was also a chance to get to know our newest portfolio company. 🥁 We're thrilled to announce our investment in bcause! 🚀 bcause is on a mission to transform philanthropy by making it accessible for everyone. Their platform simplifies giving, reduces barriers, and mobilizes capital to support organizations tackling the world's most urgent social and ecological challenges. 🤝 Aurum Impact joins BONVENTURE, IBB Ventures, and other investors in bcause's €4.7M Series A funding round. We're excited to work with Felix Oldenburg, Nicole Weyde and the entire team!
