Realising potential in Apleona's domestic market! Apleona's #technical and #integrated #facilitymanagement business in Germany has grown significantly in recent years due to the expansion of business relationships with existing clients, new clients and acquisitions. "In order to take this development into account and to enable further #growth, as well as to drive the strategic focus on the key topics of #decarbonisation, #digitalisation and #integratedFM, a broader operational management structure for the German market is required," explains Apleona COO Dr. Gert W. Riegel (centre). On 1 June 2025, Peter Antic (second from left) will become Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the FM DACH business unit. With its #data-driven #technical #facilitymanagement, Apleona is the ideal partner for rapid and smart #decarbonisation of existing buildings, with a strong focus on the highest climate return on investment. This was the key message that Dr Evelyn Milde, one of Apleonas #decarbonisation specialists, delivered to around 100 industry guests at the ZIA Zentraler Immobilien Ausschuss e.V. Apleona wins 10-year contract for DHL Group's German portfolio. In total, the contract covers a Germany-wide portfolio of more than 3,700 buildings and more than 15,000 Packstations (pick-up locations, parcel lockers, see pic below). As part of the agreement, all of the approximately 850 employees who were previously responsible for managing the portfolio in a joint venture will transfer to Apleona. The employees' employment relationships and all individual contractual arrangements will remain unchanged. They will work exclusively for the Apleona key account DHL in the International Corporate Clients (ICC) division. Apleona appoints Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) Dr. Pascal Engel to the executive board as of 1 April 2025. On 1 April 2025, Andreas Neukam will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer of the FM International business unit at Apleona. He succeeds James Thoden van Velzen, who will be responsible for special projects in the international business. Andreas Neukam will be responsible for the operations of Apleona's 33 national businesses in the EMEA region. He will report directly to Michael Engel, COO of Apleona Group and responsible for the FM International business unit. Together with Michael Engel and Apleona's regional and country managers, Andreas Neukam will focus on the further development of the international business in terms of operational excellence and continued business growth. James Thoden van Velzen has held various management positions at Apleona FM International for many years, including Regional Head for Northern Europe and COO. Speaking on behalf of the German Property Federation (ZIA Zentraler Immobilien Ausschuss e.V.), its Vice President and Apleona's CEO Dr. Dr. Jochen Keysberg FRICS made three specific proposals for policymakers in order to better and more efficiently implement the #decarbonisation of existing buildings: The first is to provide a clear, stable and reliable framework for investment in decarbonisation. Second, a strong economic signal through carbon pricing. Third, focus on climate return on investment, which means promoting measures with the best impact on decarbonisation first, such as digital, AI-based control systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Apleona has agreed to be acquired by Bain Capital, one of the world's leading private investment firms, from PAI Partners, a pre-eminent private equity firm. The investment was made by a consortium led by Bain Capital’s Private Equity team in Europe and will support Apleona’s continued growth and development into Europe’s leading integrated #facilitymanagement group.
