📢 I’m very happy to share our latest review article, just published today in International Journal of Molecular Sciences MDPI, titled: "Tumor-Educated Platelets in Urological Tumors: A Novel Biosource in Liquid Biopsy". 🔬 In this article, we explore the role of tumor-educated platelets (TEPs)—platelets that undergo functional and molecular changes through interactions with tumors and their microenvironment. 🩸Far beyond their classical role in hemostasis, TEPs are emerging as key players in cancer progression, contributing to tumor growth, angiogenesis, immune evasion, and metastasis. Thanks to their dynamic RNA and protein profiles, TEPs serve as non-invasive biomarkers that reflect real-time tumor activity. 🧬 In the context of urological cancers, we highlight how TEPs could revolutionize early detection, disease monitoring, and the design of personalized therapeutic strategies through liquid biopsy.
