European Outdoor Group (EOG)
Herstellung von Sportartikeln
Founded in 2003, the European Outdoor Group is the trade organisation for the outdoor industry.
Info
Building outdoor industry co-operation throughout Europe The European Outdoor Group is an association that exists to represent the common interests of the European outdoor industry. The EOG was founded in 2003 by 19 of the world’s largest outdoor companies, who recognised the need for a cohesive, cross border approach to representation of the outdoor sector. In a world of increasing internationalism, legislation, environment, the media and trade are all now multinational by nature. The combined strength of our members, and a close cooperation with national outdoor associations, provides us with an extremely powerful force to represent the European outdoor industry in a constructive and positive manner. The EOG strongly believes that increased participation in outdoor sports will benefit both individuals and society as a whole. We share a vision with many others in our industry, to encourage people of all ages and in all locations to be active outdoors.

European Outdoor Group (EOG) Director Christian Schneidermeier and Head of CSR & Sustainability Katy Stevens have been in Brussels this week at the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) conference. Collaboration with organisations like FESI is a vital part of our work to represent the outdoor sector, share most recent developments and support sustainable business.
Director EOG / EX-CEO ORTOVOX | IDG Ambassador / Mitglied im Think Tank Sportainable / Potentialentfaltungscoach nach Gerald Hüther
COLLABORATION WITH FESI FOR THE GOOD OF SPORTS Two days of FESI Committee meetings with Trade, Prdouct Compliance, Corporate Responsibility and Digital Committee are behind me. It was impressive to see the profound and detailed knowledge of Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry staff on the different actual developments in the different topics. There is so much going on in public affairs on the European level that it’s good to know to have close connections to the institutions in Brussels. Today I am looking forward to the FESI Conference “Clarifying and simplifying sustainability rules: building effective policies for the European Sporting Goods Industry” with about 150 participants. This conference will address key questions surrounding the right balance between Omnibus Simplification Package, the Competitiveness Compass and the single market barriers, while exploring strategies to revive the European market. A big thank you to Jerome Pero Pero and the whole FESI team for setting this up and for our collaboration with European Outdoor Group (EOG) for the good in sports and Outdoor sports, which brings so much value to our society. #FESI #outdoor #europeanoutdoorgroup #europe

THE EOG MEETS MEMBERS Our new Director Christian Schneidermeier understands the importance of personal contacts and dialogue. With this in mind, Christian intends to visit the headquarters of our members on a regular basis, and he has kicked this off with a trip to Bergzeit, south of Munich, one of the biggest outdoor retailers that is part of our association. It was a relatively easy journey by train and bicycle from Christian’s home in Bavaria. Christian spent some time with Martin Stolzenberger, CEO of Bergzeit, and both agreed on the need for our industry to have an international trade show, and that robust, up to date market data insights and management represent the most important topic for positive development of the sector. For a company like Bergzeit, our Outdoor Market Intelligence Service project is especially relevant and useful. Martin commented: “The goal of OMIS is exactly what we need in our industry. We should all contribute to make this project a success.” Martin also expressed his wish that more retailers join the EOG to increase the collaboration between brands and retail.Christian agreed and added: “The EOG is supporting the Outdoor Retailer Climate Commitment, which is a key collaborative project that was initiated by retailers. We are also very open to welcome more retailers to support or benefit from our other initiatives, like the Sustainability Data Exchange Project.” Christian is looking forward to making more visits to members (near and far) very soon. Get in touch if you want to discuss any of the issues covered by Christian and Martin, or our other work. #outdoors #outdoorindustry #collaboration #marketdata #sustainability #tradeshows
