🌡️🌳 Combating Urban Heat Islands: Cities Taking Action As urban heat islands (UHI) worsen with climate change, cities like Paris, Phoenix, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, and London are adopting innovative solutions to lower temperatures and protect public health. From green roofs to cool pavements, cities are making strides to reduce heatwave impacts. Environmental monitoring is key to evaluating and enhancing these solutions. Decentlab’s sensors, like DL-SMTP, DL-ATM41G2, and DL-TRS12, help monitor tree health and optimize irrigation to maximize cooling effects with minimal costs. DL-TBRG | Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge for LoRaWAN® is the product of the month at Alpha-Omega Technology's iot-shop!
Our product of the month: DL-TBRG from Decentlab GmbH 🥳 🚫 Too little rain 🌧️ , too little data: Many regions lack not only water but also reliable information about when and how much actually falls. 👉 That's why we've chosen the DL-TBRG precipitation sensor from Decentlab as our product of the month for April! The sensor measures precisely in 0.1 mm increments and transmits regular updates on: - The amount of rain in the last interval - The interval length - The total amount since the last reset 📊 This is how reliable time series are created – perfect for environmental monitoring, municipalities, agriculture, smart cities or research projects. 🌧️ In times of increasing weather extremes, it is more important than ever to keep an eye on every drop. Find the needle in the haystack – or the right screw in production! At first glance, just a pile of plastic screws – but they play a crucial role. These small but essential components securely fasten our robust polycarbonate enclosures, making them weatherproof, impact- and UV-resistant. From burning heat to heavy rain to icy conditions, they help ensure that our sensor devices for LoRaWAN keep delivering reliable data in any environment. Sometimes, the smallest parts make the biggest difference.

A new study shows that rising sea levels not only cause direct coastal flooding but also raise groundwater levels, leading to flooding from below. A major concern is that these floods cannot be stopped by dams or other topographic barriers and can occur far inland. The study highlights the importance of long-term groundwater monitoring and adaptive urban planning to detect risks early and minimize damage. Our sensors, including DL-PR26, DL-PR36, DL-PR36CTD and DL-CTD10B, provide critical data for effective water level and ground water monitoring. https://lnkd.in/dEgM-xeG Full article: https://lnkd.in/dpyM2eTC

Zurich by night – measured with the DL-LP8P! Even in the dark, the DL-LP8P CO₂ sensor keeps working. Captured here in nighttime Zurich, it tracks how air quality changes throughout the evening. With low power consumption and LoRaWAN connectivity, it’s designed for long-term monitoring in cities, greenhouses, and indoor spaces. Traffic, human activity, and weather all influence CO₂ levels—continuous measurements provide valuable insights into urban air quality. https://buff.ly/IiK6ihb
