Blatto Boat is a floating home located at the north end of Lake Union in Seattle, which was designed by GO’C and built within the footprint of an existing boat. Floating on top of a steel hull measuring just 12 by 40 feet, the narrow, elongated shape was established early on in collaboration with a nautical engineer. The collaborative approach taken by the designers allowed the structure to respond precisely to the hull dimensions, ballasting needs, and height restrictions. Aurum is a furniture collection by Louve Luxe, and designed in Singapore that recently won the Living Room Furniture category at the SIT Furniture Design Award. The collection features a range of furniture pieces designed for living spaces, including sofas, two distinct styles of armchairs, detachable side tables for coffee tables, as well as chairs and barstools. Each piece is designed with flexibility and modularity in mind, allowing for varied configurations and material choices. The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is a compact electric hatchback based on a new EV platform called AmpR Small. The model revisits the form and scale of the original Renault 5 from the 1970s and 80s but applies it to a modern electric drivetrain and layout. At 3.92 metres long, the car is slightly shorter than the Renault Clio but offers comparable interior space due to its long wheelbase and underfloor battery placement. Nebula is a lighting collection composed of suspended and wall-mounted glass fixtures. To produce each piece, the designers from Patrizia Volpato Lighting used blown glass techniques, giving the products a distinct surface texture that helps diffuse light while reflecting its surroundings. When illuminated, the glass produces layered visual effects based on the angle of view and surrounding light conditions. Rustic Canyon Residence is a residential project by David Thompson of Assembledge+, located on a wooded hillside in Los Angeles, California. The house is positioned at the crest of a west-facing canyon and was designed to follow the natural slope of the hill. The structure is designed to create outdoor access on several levels, following the steep hillside and opening toward the surrounding trees. At the R-Day Music Festival in Haikou last January, beachgoers experienced more than just music. Also Architects designed a temporary, adaptable home for the Urban Nomad Art Museum right on the coast. This wasn’t a typical building, but a collection of unique structures meant to be a lively place for cultural exchange, easy to set up, take down, and reuse. Shadow House is a residential project by Craig Nener of GROTTO Studio, designed for a couple in Bayswater, Western Australia. It involved the renovation of an early 1900s cottage and the addition of a new volume to the rear. Clad in charred jarrah and set back from the street, the extension is visually recessive, allowing the original cottage to maintain its original presence on the street.
