Last week, we visited GreenGT, our technical supporter for green hydrogen propulsion. A complete deep dive into the heart of innovation. ⚗️ 🫧 From the development, assembly and test of the fuel cell system, GreenGT is helping us tackle one of the most complex challenges of the project: flying around the world non-stop, emission-free, powered by green hydrogen. A big thank you to the GreenGT team for sharing their time, their know-how, and their pioneering spirit. Together, we're pushing boundaries — and paving the way for a cleaner future in aviation and beyond. 🌱 🌎 🙅🏼

The race to decarbonise is on. But are we moving fast enough? To kick off the #AirbusSummit 2025, #Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury will sit down with Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation, for a candid discussion on: - Where we stand today on global #climate objectives; - The road ahead for decarbonising #aviation; - How to strike a balance between ambition and technological feasibility. As the world accelerates toward a more sustainable future, what role will aviation play? ✈️ Join us at the Airbus Summit 2025 and find out!
Back in the day, the first mobile phone weighed 15kg. It was met with sarcasm— seen as a gadget, as a whim. Thirty years later, everyone had one in their pocket. 🤳 That’s how change starts: with what looks like a whim, until it becomes a revolution. 🎩 At the Clean Aviation Forum in Brussels, we presented Climate Impulse, the first attempt to fly non stop, zero emissions around the world, in a green-hydrogen-powered aircraft. A challenge, of course. But more than that, a necessary step to prove that clean aviation isn’t just an idea—it can be a reality. 🌠 The industry is searching for solutions. Sustainable aviation fuels, electrification, hydrogen—each has its role to play. But while hydrogen is often seen as a long-term prospect, we believe it’s time to move beyond theory and into demonstration. The only way to accelerate change is to show what’s possible. For a sustainable future to become tangible. 💢 Of course, technology alone won’t be enough. For hydrogen to become a true alternative, we need strong policy frameworks, investment, and a willingness to rethink how we fly. Clean aviation won’t happen overnight, but it also won’t happen by waiting for the perfect moment. ⌛ The discussions in Brussels reflected both optimism and pragmatism—recognising the potential, but also the challenges ahead. Now, the real work begins: turning this vision into reality. Because the sky is not the limit. It’s just the beginning. #CAAF2025 #BeTheImpulse

No single idea, technology, or organisation can tackle the world’s biggest challenges alone. It takes diverse expertise, shared ambition, and co-creation to turn bold visions into reality. That’s why we’re so proud to be part of #HumanisingEnergy, a series presented by World Energy Council and produced for us by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, showcasing how partnerships are driving the future of sustainable energy. In this film, meet our Climate Impulse Technology lead Amandine Cuenca, and discover how this mission embodies the power of collaboration. Bringing together world-leading scientists, engineers, and innovators, this project is redefining what’s possible in clean aviation, working towards the first hydrogen-powered aircraft designed to fly around the world with zero emissions. When we work together, we don’t just imagine the future, we create it! 🔗 Watch the full episode here: https://bit.ly/4ib0wqV #HumanisingEnergy #CleanAviation #Syensqo #BeTheImpulse #AdvancingHumanity

“I envisage the first commercial flight with passengers in a hydrogen-powered aeroplane by 2035,” Bertrand Piccard told Tom Goodwin. In 2024, Piccard launched Climate Impulse to develop the first green hydrogen-powered aircraft capable of completing a non-stop tour around the world, demonstrating to industries and individuals that solutions to climate problems exist—they just need investment. From navigating storms to testing aircraft, Raphaël DINELLI has never backed down from a challenge. 🌠 An eco-adventurer and engineer, he has dedicated his life to demonstrating that clean energy can thrive in the most extreme conditions. His laboratory sailboat, equipped with solar panels and a wind turbine, competed in the 2008 Vendée Globe, showcasing the potential of sustainable energy in harsh environments. Now, he brings this pioneering spirit to the skies. As co-pilot of Climate Impulse alongside Bertrand Piccard, Raphaël is working with his company, 49SUD, to construct the green hydrogen-powered airplane designed to fly non-stop for 9 days around the world. This ambitious mission aims to prove that clean aviation is not just a vision but a tangible reality. ✨ For Raphaël, technology isn't about speculation; it's about action. That's why he doesn't just develop solutions—he flies them.
