First introduced in 1928, the Tank à Guichets combines technology and design to offer a digital time display. This year, the cult model underwent a dynamic transformation to join the Cartier Privé collection as its latest edition. “Six years after the debut of the Tank Louis Cartier, Louis Cartier took his quest for simplicity even further with the Tank à Guichets. Time is revealed solely through two minimal openings, with the traditional dial replaced by a streamlined, all-gold case defined by clean lines and perfect proportions. A jumping hour mechanism and a dragging minute display embody Cartier’s commitment to refined watchmaking, where technical master always serves aesthetic excellence.” - Pierre Rainero, Director of Image, Style and Heritage at Cartier.

A tour de force of savoir-faire, this new interpretation of the Panthère de Cartier watch demanded precise craftsmanship from the ateliers. The lacquer work is applied by hand and fired at high temperatures within the Maison des Métiers d'Art, the snow-setting of the dial is adorned with 145 brilliant-cut diamonds, the bracelet is entirely paved with 314 brilliant-cut diamonds and 86 spessartites, each link polished and set one by one. This is a jewel of a watch that took over 110 hours to make. ms.spr.ly/6045qqnu7

Like a magician, Cartier transforms materials and shapes to bring forth an unexpected beauty. With the Tressage watch, gold, diamonds and stones are transfomed into a true watchmaking sculpture. “If Tressage is the perfect illustration of Cartier’s jewellery expertise in watchmaking, it is not simply a piece of jewellery that tells the time. For this creation, we exaggerated and amplified the classic attributes of a watch. By enlarging and elongating the brancards, we sculpted a voluptuous twist in volume. Neither a bangle nor a leather strap, Tressage continues to explore that unique and atypical territory so dear to Cartier— watches of a third kind, a true fusion of watchmaking and jewellery.” Marie-Laure Cérède, Creative Director of Jewellery and Watchmaking #WatchesAndWonders2025 #CartierWatchmaking ms.spr.ly/6046qqnuC

Like a magician, Cartier defies time and its appearances, relying on the expertise and craftsmanship of the Maison’s artisans. True alchemists, they enhance metal and stones to craft precious objects of desire, transforming signature silhouettes and bringing the latest innovations to life. #WatchesAndWonders2025 #CartierWatchmaking ms.spr.ly/6044qqnuA

At the Watches and Wonders salon in Geneva, the Maison welcomes visitors into a space that plays with the boundary between the visible and invisible to create an imaginary architecture that appears to be as much in metamorphosis as the latest creations. Cartier presents these collections in unique spaces that further explore the theme of transformation through the metamorphosis of artistic media. The parallel brancards and ever-changing rectangular form of the Tank are explored through a dynamic and minimalist installation. The animal motif of the Panthère de Cartier watch transforms from a mosaic into an organic, tactile zebra stripe. Finally, the genealogy of the Maison’s icons is mirrored by a living tree sculpture. #WatchesAndWonders2025 #CartierWatchmaking bit.ly/4j5KIpe
