Anna Karenina & Akris – A Special Connection Between Fashion and Dance The Stuttgart Ballet presented the premiere of Anna Karenina on March 14, 2025, choreographed by John Neumeier and inspired by Leo Tolstoy. The production, which will run until May 2025, uniquely combines fashion and dance. In the title role, Miriam Kacerov dances Anna, a character highlighted by nine exclusive looks designed by Albert Kriemler. In Neumeier’s ballet version, Anna Karenina’s clothing sets her apart from all other characters. Since the story is set in the present, Neumeier wondered how Anna would dress today – a question that led him to Kriemler and his modern, minimalist yet sensual design language. For her Pas de Deux with Martí Paixà as Count Vronsky, Anna wears an original silk Crêpe de Chine dress from Akris’s 2018 Cruise collection. Akris Fall 2025 - Alyson’s Cyanotype Print “Alyson’s cyanotype conveys a deep, multilayered representation of blue,” Albert Kriemler states. Cyanotype, also known as blueprint or Blaupause, is derived from the Greek word κύανος (kyanos – cyan), meaning ‘dark blue impression.’ Cyanotypes, once used for architectural and scientific drafts, are created by treating paper with an iron-salt solution and exposing it to UV light, which causes the pigment Prussian blue to form. Alyson Shotz is an American artist renowned for sculptures that subvert their own physicality to explore the phenomenological experience of space, gravity, light, and matter. Her work is held in collections such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C., and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, among others. #Akris #AkrisFall25 #AlbertKriemler #Paris #ParisFashionWeek #PFW
