About us
Wild Ontario is a live-animal, environmental outreach program based at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario. Using a team of non-releasable birds of prey and enthusiastic staff and volunteers, we travel the province providing quality educational programs and displays for all ages and demographics. We visit schools, community groups, camps, festivals, scouts, guides and numerous other organizations with our animal ambassadors. Our programs cover concepts relating to biodiversity, biology, ecology, conservation and stewardship. Most importantly though, our presentations and displays are fun! We love what we do, and we want to share that passion with you! Wild Ontario also provides an intensive learning experience for our team of over 40 volunteers. These dedicated individuals are the heart of our program, caring for the birds and educating the public. They learn skills including animal husbandry, public speaking, environmental outreach, leadership, communication, teamwork and responsibility. Without them, Wild Ontario would not be what it is today! Wild Ontario has its origins in the Wild Bird Clinic Education Program at the University of Guelph.
