Dear Members, Some of you have experienced confusion around the renewal dates of your new CCDP® (Certified Career Development Professional) designation under the national certification. We’re happy to share that the National Certification Team has now clarified the process. Here’s what you need to know: If you were in good standing with BCCDA at the time of transition, your CCDP® renewal date has been automatically extended by two years from your original expiry date. Example: A previous expiry of March 2, 2025, is now March 2, 2027. The new system (will be launched by the national body soon) will allow you to track and submit your PD (Professional Development) hours, aligned with the National Competency Profile. ________________________________ Staying Certified: What’s Required To keep your CCDP® status, you must reapply every three years, submitting a record of at least 60 PD credits. One hour typically equals one credit, and all activities must align with the National Profile. The National Certification Team is responsible for tracking and administering your PD and will oversee the official submission and review process. While WCCDA remains your go-to source for quality professional development, we will not monitor or validate PD hours. However, any events you attend through our platform will still be recorded in our system, giving you an easy way to reference and document your participation. A CCDP® who does not meet the PD requirements will be removed from the CCDP® directory and will no longer hold the designation. ________________________________ We’ve Made it Easy: Earn Up to 21 Credits at WCCDC The Western Canada Career Development Association (WCCDA) is your go-to for professional development that meets CCDP® standards.
