Last week, a group of UCeed Fund Managers Adam Stosky, Ali Radwan, Ksenia Kabanova, Jennifer E., Edina Thai and Declan Sander had the fantastic opportunity to participate in the VCAA 25th Annual Ski Conference at the prestigious Fairmont Chateau, Lake Louise from March 3-5. This premier event in partnership with Alberta Enterprise Corporation (AEC), which brings together leading investors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts from across North America, offered an invaluable platform for our students to immerse themselves in the venture capital and innovation landscape. Here are some key lessons they took away: 🚀 The Power of Collaboration: Success in startups extends beyond securing funding—it’s about cultivating strong relationships among founders, investors, and industry leaders. Alberta’s tech ecosystem thrives on these connections! 💡 Understanding the Investor Mindset: Beyond financials, VCs seek strong leadership, scalable business models, and market fit. These factors often determine whether a startup secures funding or not. 🔄 Resilience & Adaptability: Many investors emphasized that successful startups often pivot in response to challenges. In a fast-evolving market, adaptability is a must! A huge thank you to Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking - UCalgary for access to the conference and the Venture Capital Association of Alberta (VCAA) community for welcoming our UCeed Fund Managers and sharing such valuable insights and great connections. It’s inspiring to see the next wave of innovators and investors engaging with the broader venture ecosystem. #UCeed #Hunterhub #VentureCapital #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #VCAA2025
