Apple has been seeking expertise and guidance from Indigenous communities in Australia and Aotearoa (New Zealand) to display Indigenous lands, place names, languages, and iconography on Apple Maps. Firelight has previously worked with Apple Maps to increase representation of Indigenous Nations and lands in North America, and the global scale of this work is exciting to see. This Monday February 10, The Firelight Indigenous Negotiations team will be joining the #Neeganii2025 Gathering to host an afternoon pre-conference workshop on Impact Benefit Agreements (IBAs) and Economic Reconciliation. Designed for First Nation leaders, economic development officers, and administrative staff, the training sessions will cover projects in mining (exploration through to operation), hydro, wind, solar, forestry, road building, and more.
