Syreon Research Africa joined the 5K Run & Walk as part of our support towards Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event, organized by Run For A Cure Africa Ghana at the Lincoln Community School, raised money for screening equipment to aid in the fight against breast cancer in Africa. At our lead partner’s, Syreon Research Institute, the dedication towards the breast cancer fight has been demonstrated both by the impactful research undertaken over the years and through the active contribution of Syreon Research Institute’s Head of Human Resources, Krisztina Toth, who serves as Vice President of Egészség Hídja Összefogás a Mellrák Ellen Egyesület/ Bridge of Health Alliance and is a patient advocate specialist. Although our commitment to the fight against breast cancer in Ghana and Africa has just begun, we seek to contribute our research expertise to the cause. Thank you all for your kind comments and support for our new Genome Canada program! We are pleased to coordinate this pioneering $6 million project in epitope-based molecular matching with our colleagues across Canada and around the world. This program is driven by three key advanced in biology and medicine: 1. the development of nanopore sequencing technologies, miniaturized to the size of a cell phone, that reduce gene sequencing time from days to hours. 2. the understanding of epitope biology, thanks to the long work of Dr. Duquesnoy and colleagues, that identifies critical target segments for precise matching. 3. the evolution in clinical trial designs which enables accelerated health technology evaluation, reducing patient numbers and the time required for validation.
