Congratulations to Oliver Vierath, who is celebrating four decades with Supreme Steel! Oliver began his journey with the company on January 28, 1985, started his welding apprenticeship in 1986, and became a Journeyman Welder in 1990. He now leads the shop crew with the same dedication and skill he's shown throughout the years. Pictured left to right: Leighton Westeroth, Oliver Vierath, and David Richards.

Canada’s steel industry is under pressure, and the stakes are high. In response to continued U.S. tariffs on Canadian steel, associations and labour unions have partnered to form the 'Strong as Steel' coalition. This national effort represents thousands of workers and hundreds of communities that rely on a strong, competitive domestic steel sector. The coalition is advocating for: • Government action to mitigate the impact of tariffs • Domestic procurement policies that prioritize Canadian-made steel • Tariff relief on essential products not manufactured in Canada This is a pivotal moment for the future of Canadian industry. We’re calling on all Canadians to stand with our workers and protect a cornerstone of our economy. Thank you to all of our employees who have completed the Indigenous Canada Course! Upon completion, they receive this T-shirt and a gift card to an Indigenous-owned restaurant or experience. Indigenous Canada is an online course offered by the Faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta that explores Indigenous histories and contemporary issues in Canada. We encourage all of our employees to join us on our journey of learning and growth towards Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation.

Each year, we partner with the Local 838 Ironworkers to make a donation to a charity—this year, to the SPCA. In the Saskatoon shop, 2 cents from every hour worked is set aside and matched by the company, with every hour adding up to support our communities. Thank you to all the Ironworkers who help make this possible!
