Nord Quantique is among the companies selected for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Quantum Benchmarking Initiative. This places us among a prestigious group of companies whose quantum computing technology DARPA has deemed to be very promising. We view this selection as a validation of the work we have done since our founding. We have always believed that a hardware efficient approach to quantum error correction is the most scalable and practical approach to building a utility-scale quantum computer. We thank DARPA for their interest in our approach and we congratulate the other companies selected. Our team is looking forward to the challenge! Canada has a long and rich history in quantum physics, and we continue to be a global leader in this emerging strategic industry. However, as the global trade environment continues to evolve quickly, it is crucial for our government to make greater investments in quantum, supporting startups and keeping the companies and innovators developing this critical technology here at home. Our colleagues from Quantum Industry Canada • Industrie Quantique Canada and Institut quantique - Université de Sherbrooke make this argument in a compelling fashion in today's issue of La Presse. https://lnkd.in/eNAFK7mW #innovation #QuantumComputing #Quantum

Developing the best quantum error correction has always been central to our mission at Nord Quantique. Our qubits use a combination of unique hardware and bosonic codes to enhance autonomous error correction. However, this comes at a cost, as these qubits are challenging to simulate due to their complexity. Today, as the quantum world gathers for NVIDIA GTC, we highlight how the latest advancements in high-performance quantum simulation from NVIDIA's CUDA-Q present an opportunity for us to push the boundaries of quantum error correction even further. Learn more about how this approach supports efficient and scalable quantum error correction on our company blog: https://lnkd.in/eu6eaUec #QuantumComputing #Quantum #STEM #innovation #ScalableQEC #GTC25

𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱! This is a perspective shared by Nord Quantique, Amazon and many others. The latest announcement from Amazon Web Services (AWS) highlights this with Ocelot, a system designed to make quantum error correction more efficient. Published in Nature Portfolio, this work is further confirmation that bosonic codes present a very promising path towards building hardware efficient error correction, and reducing the number of physical qubits needed for reliable quantum operations. - 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 The team at Amazon has used a type of bosonic code called a ‘cat-qubit’ which is intrinsically robust to bit-flips errors. Connecting these special qubits using a more standard repetition code will lead to resource-efficient quantum error correction. The goal is to reduce the overhead by orders of magnitudes. Similarly, the bosonic grid states we’ve developed at Nord Quantique share that objective. However, we are taking it one step further by correcting both types of errors, 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀, while also offering multiple different methods to correct errors. Today we are pleased to announce we have received $1.8 million from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. The funding will be deployed to set up a laboratory dedicated to manufacturing our quantum computers. CED’s assistance allows for the acquisition of dilution refrigerators, quantum control electronics and other related costs. We thank Minister Pascale St-Onge along with our member of Parliament, Minister Élisabeth Brière for their confidence in Nord Quantique, and for supporting the quantum ecosystem in the Eastern Townships more broadly.
