You do not need to read these background materials or to be knowledgeable in impact assessment to participate, but they are there for those that want to enage further and learn more.

Winnipeg Workshop on environmental impact assessment reform in Manitoba will be taking place on Sunday, April 27th at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba Boardroom, Room 2M70 from 1-3 PM. To celebrate the power of organized global action to reverse ecological harm as evidenced by the 1987 Montreal Protocol to Protect the Ozone Layer — the only treaty to be universally ratified by every country on earth. According to some models, the Montreal Protocol has helped prevent up to two million cases of skin cancer yearly and avoided millions of cataract cases worldwide. Today, the ozone hole still exists, forming every year over Antarctica in the spring and closing up again over the summer, But there’s evidence it’s starting to disappear — and recover. That said, new threats and challenges to the ozone and the climate persist — Even today, don’t use aerosol hair spray! (Our model Signe Knutson - Green Action said she washed her hair with Epsom Salt on Monday and she has a week long process to make it as big as possible!)

Our 40th Anniversary '80s Dance Party this Friday, March 21st from 8PM to 1AM at the Sidestage (700 Osborne St., Winnipeg) is going to be a lot of fun!
