Massive shout-out to Magellan Aerospace Limited for their continued support in the Space Systems Engineering course in the Price Faculty of Engineering. We wrapped up the course yesterday with final project presentations at Magellan and a tour of the Advanced Satellite Integration Facility. Big thanks also to Jared Kozub from NRC and Lauchie Scott from DRDC for providing lectures on additive manufacturing and space domain awareness. Collaborative classes like this give students hands-on learning opportunities that help build capacity in Canada for the next generation in space systems. Let's do more of this!

Magellan’s Mississauga and Corporate recruitment teams recently attended Centennial College’s Aviation & Aerospace Career Fair at their Downsview Campus!   More than 200 students from aviation, avionics, and aerospace engineering technology programs participated—eager to explore career opportunities in the aerospace and aviation industries. Magellan exhibited alongside other major aerospace players including Pratt & Whitney, Bombardier, and Airbus.   We were thrilled with the strong interest in our open Engine Assembler positions in Mississauga and enjoyed engaging conversations with students about their studies and the exciting developments at Magellan Aerospace. Our booth was bustling throughout the event—it was a fantastic day!

On 4 March 2025, Magellan’s Tumkur division proudly hosted a blood donation camp in collaboration with a local blood bank, Red Circle Blood Centre.   Around 60 employees volunteered to donate blood, a true act of compassion and community spirit. Donors received a certificate and donor card in recognition of their generous contribution. Magellan Aerospace Wrexham recently experienced the exhilarating "runner's high" while participating in a charity run to support Nightingale House Hospice. The team successfully raised £800👏 for this remarkable organization, which provides essential services to individuals and families in North East Wales dealing with life-limiting illnesses - https://lnkd.in/g2GPFaKs. The event, initially planned as a 5k run, turned into an unexpected adventure of nearly 5 miles due to a misdirection by marshals, adding a memorable twist to the day. Buoyed by the event's success and vibrant atmosphere, Magellan is forming an employee running club to promote camaraderie and support. The club will meet weekly, allowing participants to collectively decide on their running goals. Mentally, running is a powerful tool for enhancing well-being. It has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression by releasing endorphins, often referred to as "feel-good" hormones, which can elevate mood and create a sense of euphoria known as the "runner's high." Regular running can also improve sleep quality, boost self-esteem, and enhance cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain. Furthermore, the meditative aspects of running, such as rhythmic breathing and the opportunity for solitude, can provide mental clarity and stress relief, contributing to overall emotional resilience. In the spirit of ongoing charitable efforts, some employees have committed to the Wrexham 10k in June, raising funds for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Today is #GreenShirtDay, and Canadians proudly recognize the legacy of Logan Boulet and the importance of organ donation. The 21-year-old Humboldt Broncos hockey player was killed in a tragic bus crash on 6 April 2018 that claimed 16 lives and injured many others. Logan's selfless gift of organ donation inspired thousands to register as donors and continues to spark meaningful conversations across the country.
