We are a little early for #NationalVolunteerWeek but let's celebrate our Volunteer Leadership Award recipients! April 10, 2025: Rachel Padillo and Oğuz Bilgener receive the LiveWorkPlay Volunteer Leadership Award 2025 Presentation by Rebecca Coxon, LiveWorkPlay Team Lead: Next, we’re excited to recognize a pair of volunteers whose dedication and teamwork have made a real impact on our Friday Night Meetups. For those who aren’t familiar, nearly every Friday night, LiveWorkPlay coordinates meetups of people we support and individuals from our volunteer team, to get together in locations all over the city. On any given Friday, all at the same time, small groups will be gathered for dinners, movies, sporting events, theatre, nature walks, you name it, it’s happening at a LiveWorkPlay Friday Night Meetup! The volunteers being honoured tonight have been with us for four years, they usually take part in Friday Night Meetups as a couple and have an outstanding record for consistency and reliability. Their positive energy and willingness to help wherever they are needed have made them an integral part of our volunteer team. Whether we have an unexpected cancellation or have extra logistics to manage, they’re always there to help. Beyond this, they have built meaningful connections with our members, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere at every event. Their commitment, kindness, and teamwork truly embody the spirit of volunteerism, and we are so grateful to have them with us. Let’s all give a round of applause to Rachel Padillo and Oguz Bilgener for their incredible contributions as we present them with the Volunteer Leadership award. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers! 👏♥️

Options Housing Receives LiveWorkPlay Community Partner Award 2025 "The first housing partner we want to recognize tonight has supported two individuals who found themselves in urgent need of a home. Facing emergency shelter and the real possibility of being unhoused, we reached out to Options Bytown, now known as Options Housing. As the Options Housing website says: we are committed to ending homelessness in Ottawa. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home, no matter their background, no matter their challenges. We want to see real and lasting change in our community, and we know that the best way to end homelessness is to prevent it from happening in the first place. These beliefs underpin everything we do. And this is exactly what we experienced." Full story: https://lnkd.in/gRkw42MK
