Supporting Adolescent Mental Health HydroEQ’s Donation to the Lionheart Foundation and Attendance at Youth Power Hour Growing up can be tough. It can be hard to navigate all the information, expectations and images we are exposed to, all while trying to figure out who we are and what we want to be. Having someone available to help navigate this challenging time can be invaluable. It is for this reason that we are happy to support the Lionheart Foundation in their mission to provide access to quality mental health care to children and adolescents who may not otherwise be able to access it. Our donation to the Lionheart Foundation and our attendance at their recent Youth Power Hour event reflect our commitment to our purpose (to make a difference), and to positively influence the communities in which we work and live. Mental health is, in our opinion, just as important as physical health, although it does not tend to get near as much attention and focus. We had the pleasure of sharing Youth Power Hour with some of our friends, and appreciated having them there with us. Thanks to each of you for making the time in your busy schedules. At HydroEQ, we are experts in designing and executing tailored instrumentation programs for mine waste facilities. Our team has extensive experience across various scales, from smaller-scale pilot plots to instrumenting full scale facilities. In doing so, we address one of the biggest challenges in geochemistry: scaling results from lab tests to full-scale mine waste facilities. An effectively designed instrumentation program can measure and assess various physical and chemical conditions within a mine waste facility, including temperature, oxygen ingress and consumption, moisture content, gas transport processes, water infiltration, and constituent release. Continuous monitoring of instrumented field experiments and full-scale facilities can result in more accurate projections of future behavior and implementation of more effective management strategies where required. Have you heard of reactive transport modelling (RTM)? RTM is a powerful tool for understanding and forecasting geochemistry and water quality at mine sites, especially when combined with advanced mineralogical methods that can precisely quantify how metals are hosted in sulphides and other minerals. HydroEQ is well-equipped with our specialized in-house RTM and modern mineralogy expertise to provide targeted and tailored solutions for our mining clients. We work closely with developers of RTM software (MIN3P), and actively collaborate with experts at laboratories developing and applying advanced mineralogical methods. Environmental success is critical for building trust in the mining industry. RTM and modern mineralogy are valuable tools to help make that happen.
