🌶️ Spicy Take: Exit Interviews are useless... Well, not really... But have you ever considered a Stay Interview? Most companies wait until employees leave to ask why. But what if you could uncover those insights before they start looking elsewhere? That’s where Stay Interviews come in. Breezy HR describes them as proactive one-on-one conversations that help managers understand what employees value, what’s frustrating them, and what it would take to keep them engaged. Alan Paulin, Co-Founder of Flint, would call it Continuous Alignment (we love that term!) Here are better questions to make your Stay Interviews meaningful: 1) Experience: What Keeps You Here? ➙ What is the most fulfilling part of your role? ➙ Have you ever considered leaving? What made you stay? 2) Growth & Development: Are You Advancing? ➙ What skills do you want to build in the next six to twelve months? ➙ Do you feel challenged and supported in your career goals? 3) Leadership & Support: How Can We Help? ➙ When was the last time you felt truly recognized for your work? ➙ What is one thing leadership could do to make your job easier? 4) Culture & Environment: Do You Feel Connected? ➙ Does our company live up to its values in day-to-day work? ➙ What is one change that would improve work-life balance? Stay Interviews aren’t just about listening, they require action. Show employees you care before they start looking elsewhere. Need help rolling it out? Our Fractional People Ops Advisors can guide the way. Let’s talk.

Here’s my 🌶️🌶️🌶️ take on hiring: Don’t hire people to meet the requirements of a job description. Hire people who take initiative, are committed to driving outcomes, and do what’s needed to achieve success. In terms of qualifications, the focus should always be on potential and ambition. Here's what I look for in candidates: • A desire to learn: Do they show a hunger for knowledge and growth? • Self-motivation: Are they driven to take initiative? • Adaptability: Do they have a track record of thriving in challenging or unfamiliar situations? • Potential to grow: Could this person step into a role several levels above the open position in the future? Could they even do my job one day? For every hire, I’m not just looking to fill a position—I’m looking for future owners: 🚀 Owners of the mission and vision: People who deeply connect with the company’s purpose. ✅ Owners of the products and services: People who are invested in delivering value to customers. 🤝 Owners of team culture: People who actively shape a positive, productive environment. Ideally, your employees have the freedom to work anywhere but choose at your company because they see the opportunities, the challenges, and the rewards that come with being part of something bigger. At the end of the day, healthy teams grow. The people you hire today will form the foundation for the next stage of your company’s success. That’s why it’s critical to hire for future potential and then invest in your team to help them reach it. #Hiring #Recruiting #TalentAcquisition

💡Customizing Review Cycles: Lessons from Flint Periodic reviews and reflections are central to most organizations' performance strategies. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that customization and automation are essential to making these processes effective and efficient. Here’s why: ⚒️ Customization matters: From the set of questions, to timing, to feedback visibility, no two organizations are the same. ⚙️ Automation saves time: Reviews can be a huge time sink, especially for People teams managing them. Thanks to all the feedback we’ve received this year, Flint’s platform has evolved to support a wide range of customizations. Here are some lessons we’ve learned along the way: 1️⃣ Clarity is key Messaging around how the process works and setting expectations for both people and the platform makes a big difference. 2️⃣ Peer feedback is complex Organizations have diverse ways of selecting peers and deciding how feedback is shared. 3️⃣ Teams have specific needs Even within a single company, teams often require unique customizations. 4️⃣ Efficiency is everything Anything that makes the process simpler and less time-consuming is a huge win. #PerformanceManagement #HR #PeopleOps --------- Still figuring out your review cycle for Q1? If you’re looking for a simple, streamlined solution, let’s talk.

🌟 A neat discovery with Flint Scribe… One of the things we’ve been working on is teaching Flint Scribe how to discover work from a variety of integrated sources, including tools like Slack. Yesterday, I had an exciting moment while talking with Alexandra Erman at BforeAI. She pointed me to an entry that Scribe had surfaced and showed me something unexpected—the source data for that entry was in French! This was a super cool moment, especially since so many companies operate globally with teams that work in different languages. Thanks for pointing it out, Alexandra Erman! I’m lucky to get to work with people like yourself who are driving performance and productivity to new levels. #AI #WorkIntelligence Flint —------- 💡 Interested in seeing what Flint Scribe can do for your team? 📖 As a fan of hype docs (sometimes called brag docs or weekly snippets), I know how valuable they can be for capturing accomplishments to use in performance reviews and promotion packets. But let’s be real—keeping them up-to-date can become a time-consuming chore. Wouldn’t it be amazing if they just…wrote themselves? ✍️ Flint’s Scribe AI might be what you’ve been waiting for. It’s an AI that discovers and surfaces your important completed work automatically—like having a self-updating hype doc. Plus, it can help draft performance reviews, saving you even more time. 💬 If this sounds interesting to you, let’s talk! #AI #Productivity #PerformanceReviews #CareerGrowth
