Emergent’s polarization cameras like the HR-12000-S-P and HR-5000-S-P can be used in applications in which reflected and transmitted scenes must be separated. This can be useful to detect surface defects like dirt, bumps, dips, scratches, and bends.

VR / AR applications are popular at NAB as entertainment and sports companies look to bring people into new worlds. Visitors have been stepping into the ring of 36 HR Series 10GigE cameras to see themselves transported into 3D space. One midrange server with one GPU is used to perform real-time imaging into the Meta Quest engine. Viewing this experience is flexible. We can use a joystick and fly around the space—viewing the subject in our 3D space on a 2D monitor. We can also use Meta Quest 3 to fly around the 3D space using the Quest controllers. The Quest integration is enabled with the use of Unity. The 3D content could be transmitted to another location for remote viewing.

NAB 2025 is now underway. We've been hard at work creating some incredible demonstrations of GigE cameras for sports, virtual reality, broadcasting and immersive content creation. Swing by booth N323 to see us! In this post, we have Phil Schweiger with a demo of FlexProc and FlexTrans, an NAB 2024 Product of the Year winner. In combination, they provide a drag and drop interface that allows you to choose which nodes in your system perform processing tasks, then how that data flows within the system to its final storage destination. It adds up to flawless capture and storage.
