  • Have your voice captured in this important survey! The deadline to participate is December 13th, 2024.

  • We recently joined forces with Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation to support quality of life for seniors in long-term care in Nanaimo and Oceanside. “We know that seniors in care need more than just medical support, they need experiences that connect them with happy memories, and restore a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives,” says Eldercare Executive Director, Tom Arnold.

Earlier this year we set a goal to raise funds to brighten the days for residents at our Long-Term Care Centers. The Eldercare Foundation saw this ask, and generously answered the call with a donation of over $46,000 to support Eagle Park, Trillium and Dufferin Place facilities. This has directly funded essential improvements for these centres, including new patio furniture at Eagle Park LTC Centre just in time for fall outdoor gatherings. Eldercare Executive Director Tom Arnold joined Karen McCarthy from NDHF and some very excited residents at Eagle Park enjoying their outdoor space upgrades. Thank you to the donors and team at Eldercare for continuing to enhance the quality of life for all seniors living on Vancouver Island.

  • We are pleased to announce that Eldercare has made a $1M contribution to Canada’s first public, non-profit, long-term care village. Based on the concepts of a dementia village and set to open in Comox in July, Providence Living at The Views offers a new model of care that puts the needs of seniors first. “Partnering with Providence Living on this transformational model of care is an exciting step in our evolution,” says Tom Arnold, Eldercare’s Executive Director. “Over the decades we have relied on philanthropic support to improve quality of life for seniors in Greater Victoria. Thanks to the generosity and foresight of our donors, Eldercare is ready to meet the challenges of our aging population across Vancouver Island.” Read all about it here: https://lnkd.in/gsaK_4M3
