🇨🇦 Canada's hydrogen industry is set to power the future From coast to coast, momentum is building fast as Canada positions itself as a key player in global hydrogen production. Last week, Denmark's Ambassador to Canada, Nikolaj Harris, joined our energy advisors Christian and Sif for a webinar exploring potential synergies between Denmark and Canada in the hydrogen space, sharing insights into the latest developments in Canada. Highlights from the webinar include: 👉 80+ hydrogen projects are in the pipeline, worth over $100bn CAD 👉 More than $29bn CAD backs the industry in federal funding and tax credits 👉 Canada has engaged in strategic hydrogen partnerships signed with the EU, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and many others 👉 In particular, Atlantic Canada is gaining attention as a future hydrogen hub. This is powered by strong wind resources, deep-water ports with access to global markets, and legislative support for production, export, and blending. Companies such as EverWind, World Energy GH2, Simply Blue Group, and Danish Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners are already advancing large-scale projects in the region, creating massive potential for Danish companies across PtX, electrolysis, infrastructure, and system integration to share their solutions and knowledge. 👏 We want to thank Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), and our Future Energies Alliance members for participating in this week's webinar. We are excited to announce the publication of the final report from the November 2024 workshop, "𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼'𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆." In partnership with Centre for Community Energy Transformation (CCET) and the Region of Peel, our Commercial Advisor Max Lauretta organized and co-hosted this full-day conference, which brought together over 150 energy transition experts, finance professionals, and sustainability specialists from across Ontario. A special thank you to all the speakers, sponsors, facilitators and collaborators that made this event such a success. The workshop served as a platform for in-depth discussions on how to build community-scale thermal networks to support Ontario’s goal of reducing emissions by 30% below 2005 levels by 2030. Participants explored various elements critical to the success of district energy systems, including an opportunity to discuss the most pressing topics in focused breakout rooms. The insights, discussion points and actionable recommendations gathered throughout the day have been categorized into short-, medium-, and long-term strategies within this final report, and which are designed to help guide stakeholders in advancing low-carbon thermal networks across the province.
