We had a great time connecting with the #automotiverecycling community at the #URGConference! Cyclic Materials’ Eric Downer, Ryan Swiderski, and Ben Diamond were proud to represent our team, sharing how we help recyclers unlock new value from electric motors and other components containing #rareearth elements. From engaging conversations to exploring new partnerships, it was an energizing event focused on innovation, recovery, and real-world solutions for reclaiming #criticalmaterials. Big thanks to United Recyclers Group LLC for hosting a standout event — we’re excited about what’s ahead as we continue building a more circular future together. #RareEarthRecycling #URG2025

Creating a Circular Supply Chain for Rare Earth Elements
About us
Cyclic Materials transforms yesterday’s waste into tomorrow’s critical materials. We’re creating a circular supply chain for the rare earth elements and critical materials that power our global economy, without compromising quality or environmental impact. Our proprietary two-phase process is unlocking value from discarded waste. Our MagCycle℠ technology simplifies the separation of rare earth magnets and critical metals from end-of-life electric vehicles, consumer electronics, wind turbines, and MRIs. Then our REEPure℠ technology restores those valuable materials back to their raw form, unlocking new revenue streams for metal buyers and feedstock companies. We are the only high-tech recycling company offering a scalable, efficient, and low-carbon recycling solution that complements mining on both quality and cost, and mitigates the risks associated with extraction. Cyclic Materials is setting a high bar for sustainable resource recovery. We’ve solved the barriers to creating a circular economy for rare earths, and our transparent, data-driven approach ensures the highest standards of sustainability and traceability, including rigorous Scope 3 carbon tracking and water efficiency. With USD $83.5M in funding, including USD $53M in Series B funding backed by partners like Microsoft and BMW i Ventures, we’re scaling our recycling infrastructure across North America and Canada to meet global demand. Cyclic Materials is establishing a more resilient, domestic supply chain for rare earths and critical metals, providing opportunity and value for global industries.

We knew this day will come and we have been planning for it all along...
Today China implemented export controls on rare earth elements and magnets, primarily targeting heavy rare earths, which are among the most critical of critical metals. This development is even more significant when you realize 93% of rare earth magnets and more than 99% of heavy rare earths come from China. The average timeline to develop a mine outside of China is over 15 years. As a long-time believer in the importance of recycling for both environmental sustainability and economic circularity, I firmly believe that recycling is also the fastest way to begin producing rare earths outside of China. Our track record is the proof: Cyclic Materials was founded in 2021, and in 2024, we shipped our first tonne of recycled mixed rare earth oxide (rMREO), which includes more than 80% Nd-Pr oxide and about 10% heavy rare earth oxides (Tb and Dy oxide). As China continues to implement new export controls on rare earth elements (REEs), Cyclic Materials is embracing the challenge of building a robust rare earth recycling infrastructure. We supply our partners with high-quality, clean rMREO that meets the industry's highest standards, complete with a traceability passport/certificate. At Cyclic Materials, our mission is to make rare earth metals circular, and we are expanding fast; soon, we’ll be announcing more details about our active projects in the USA 🇺🇸, and Canada 🇨🇦, solidifying our commitment to building a more resilient supply chain. Stay tuned... #rareearths #circularity #exportban #tariffs #exportcontrol #recycling https://lnkd.in/gyNUEsJf

The demand for #RareEarthElements (#REEs) is skyrocketing, but supply chains are struggling to keep up. As the world races to power the #energytransition, we can’t afford to overlook the potential of recycling. In a new piece for illuminem, Cyclic Materials CEO & Co-Founder Ahmad Ghahreman explores why 2025 will be the breakthrough year for #rareearth circularity—and what it means for supply chain security, sustainability, and the clean energy transition. The shift is coming. Will industries and policymakers act fast enough? https://lnkd.in/eAdqTc6G
