Skin tears might seem minor, but they have a huge impact on patients' lives. 💡 Today, the Grey Nuns Community Hospital proudly hosted our very first pop-up event in recognition of A World Without Skin Tears Day. 🩹 Skin tears are often overlooked yet significantly impact the well-being of many, especially our seniors. Did you know that by 2046, one in five Albertans will be aged 65 or older, making skin tear prevention more crucial than ever? 🤔 Participants experienced hands-on learning with groundbreaking polymer skin tear models from the UK, realistically demonstrating skin tear flaps and practical dressing application and removal. These innovative models, made with sustainable biopolymer materials, provide realistic training scenarios that enhance healthcare professionals' skills and confidence in wound management.
