🌟 Free Learning Opportunity for Seniors! 🌟 The Community-based Language Instructions for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) for Seniors Program is launching on May 5, 2025 and will run through! If you’re a permanent resident or convention refugee aged 55 or older, we invite you to join us for this valuable opportunity to learn English, build connections, and reduce social isolation. To participate, you must be a permanent resident or convention refugee aged 55 and up. Additionally, you should be able to speak Arabic or Hindi/Punjabi/Urdu and have a Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) placement test result. If you don’t have your CLB placement test yet, please contact CLARC at 403-262-2656 to book an appointment. Classes will be held at the Genesis Centre, located at 10, 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary. Empowering Career Growth Through Technology At the Centre for Newcomers, we are dedicated to helping our community build the digital skills necessary to succeed in today’s fast-evolving workforce. Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting Digital Discovery Day with Sara Struthers and Mandeep Suri from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). They introduced us to the Digital Discovery Bursary, a fantastic program that provides 100% funding for eligible Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents with financial need to pursue digital technology programs at SAIT. This bursary offers a tremendous opportunity for individuals to enhance their skills and strengthen their career pathways in the tech industry. We were thrilled to connect with over 50 attendees, giving them the chance to learn about and apply for this valuable resource. A heartfelt thank you to Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) for sharing this incredible opportunity with us and our clients.
