Last week, our team gathered at Platform Calgary for an all-hands workshop—two days of connection, collaboration, and forward thinking. But it was also a moment to reflect on just how far we’ve come. Ava began as a small idea between two physicians, Dr. Michael Forseth and Dr. Matt Henschke: What if we could build a better EMR? One that felt intuitive. Simpler. One that helped providers spend more time on care—not clicks. People said it was impossible. That changing the industry couldn’t be done. But with the right team—and a lot of heart—that idea became something real. Today, Ava is trusted by thousands of physicians across Alberta and British Columbia —doctors who collectively care for millions of Canadians. We’ve grown to support clinics working within Alberta Health and across BC’s Fraser Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Island Health Authority, and Interior Health Authority. That growth didn’t happen overnight. It took years of building, listening, troubleshooting, and showing up—again and again. This photo captures the team behind it all.
