🚀 The most comprehensive report on Canada’s Food Ecosystem is here! Just published by CFIN, this report dives deep into growth trends, investor interest, and the key challenges shaping the future of food in Canada. One key insight? 🇨🇦 Canada over-invests in Agtech and underinvests in Foodtech—despite the Food Sector contributing 3X more to GDP than primary agriculture! Kudos to the CFIN team for their incredible work in investing, supporting, and connecting Canada’s food innovation ecosystem. At Ardra, we’re proud to be among the innovators working to position Canada as a global food tech leader. Introducing the next lineup of speakers for Atlantic BIOCON 2024! Bioproducts for Human Health and Wellness 🧪 Like our built environment, the products we consume for nutrition can improve the health of our communities, both on an individual and environmental level or detract from it. Hear from experts in the field who are developing concepts and products that address both of these topics. Featuring Gregg Curwin from #Novagevity, Pratish Gawand from Ardra Inc, Jack MacDonald from Infusd Nutrition, and moderated by Doris Grant from Life Sciences Nova Scotia! Next up is the Circularity Consortium!♻️ What is waste by some can often be repurposed as an input for another. This was the concept behind three Nova Scotia companies teaming up to convert material otherwise destined for the landfill into high quality aquaculture feed for a zero-waste, land-based Salmon farm. Learn from a premier example of how the bioeconomy can be truly circular when the right partners come together. Hear from Fraser Gray from Sustane Technologies Inc., Greg Wanger from Oberland Agriscience Inc., David Roberts from Sustainable Blue, and moderator Rod Badcock from the Greenspring Bioinnovation Hub! Raising Capital in a Challenging Market 📈 Capital is life for companies trying to scale and commercialize their projects. Recently, the market for companies trying to raise capital has been exceptionally challenging, though there are success stories. Hear lessons learned and best practices from both investors and a project proponent who successfully navigated this landscape. Featuring Brianna Stratton from DeNova, Paul Richards from Invest Nova Scotia, Rhiannon Davies (she/her) from Sandpiper Ventures, and moderated by Kyle Burton from the Verschuren Centre! Stay tuned for our final announcement of speakers later today! #BIOCON2024 #Bioeconomy #Conference #NovaScotia
