Improving the stewardship, conservation, and restoration of Canada's aquatic habitats through strategic partnerships.

About us

Aquatic Habitat Canada (AHC) is a multi-sector network of professionals and from indigenous groups, academia, ENGOs, industry, consultancies, and all levels of government. AHC aims to engage all sectors toward realizing improved conservation, stewardship and restoration of aquatic habitats in Canada. We work to build capacity, provide networking opportunities, transfer knowledge between sectors, and inform government policies and decision making in regard to fish and fish habitat protection. We strive to establish effective partnerships that will result in effective protection and restoration of aquatic ecosystems to ensure they are healthy, resilient to the effects of changing climate and environmental conditions, and provide ecosystem services to their full potential. We invite people to follow our social media channels to: - receive information about aquatic habitat conservation issues and events, - to engage in our specific initiatives, webinars, and conferences, - to become an active member of our steering committee and working groups. By working together we believe our multi-sector approach will help ensure that aquatic habitats in Canada are maintained, and restored where necessary, to healthy functioning natural systems. If you're passionate about maintaining these environments in the best ways possible we invite you to contact us and join our efforts. If you're not able to get actively involved in our work we invite you to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, or visit our website to see news and event notices relevant to aquatic habitat conservation.
